Not sure about the one you have linked.

But about heart rate monitors - they are designed for steady state cardio. If your video is something else, then the HRM won't be nearly as accurate. I've used my HRM with Leslie Sansone DVDs (low impact aerobics)....numbers seem reasonable with my Polar FT4. Weight lifting (or general strength training) is not really heart rate based. Up/down of circuit training (ie: 30 Day Shred) is not reliable with a HRM either.

HRMs measure your heart rate while working out & compare it against your resting heart rate. That is used as exertion level. HRMs with a chest strap can monitor your heart rate constantly. Wrist only models will measure it from time to time. Wrist only models may have you stop exercise to "take your pulse" .....this is because sometimes arm movements can throw the numbers off.

Cheaper HRMs don't tend to last long...I got one some years ago from Lloyd's Chemist for the same price and it stopped working after a couple of months.

I've got both the Mio Alpha and the Mio Link wrist-based HRM bands.

The Alpha uses Bluetooth to talk to my iPhone.

The Link uses ANT+ to talk to my Garmin watch (and also does Bluetooth to the iPhone if you want).

Both offer chest-strap-style results on your wrist.

    YMMV
