Hey Ya'll,
SO here's the deal. Tonight I learned the hard way one of my biggest problems and causes for my weight issues. The T.V!!!! I was doing so well this weekend for the first time in a long time. Normally, another one of my problems are the weekends. I always say "it's the weekend..i shoudl treat myself". But i always end up blowing my entire week within two days! SO this weekend was different.. I was doing really well untill tonight....tonight i got bored and decided to watchT.v...i also decided to have a snack while watching my T.V..BAD IDEA... i ended up eatting chocolate/popcorn and lots of it....When i'm not paying attention i eat waaayyyy too much adn the wrong foods. SO i feel aweful and learned my lesson. In conclusion: new rule for me NO EATTING WHILE WATCHING T.V! :)
I'm just wondering if any of you have the same problem???

Best wishes

Drink water... lots of water. Seltzer actually works the best for me to fight off the TV munchies.

I do have this problem but lately Ive been kind of doing something like straightening up while watching tv and sometimes I even use my 6 inch aerobic step while watching a show for 30 minutes-just keep your hands busy I still have this problem but since Ive started doing things like this the bad habit has reduced

Yes, I finally broke that habit. Now I bring a big glass of water with me and I keep a cute covered candy dish by my chair with pieces of peppermint sugar-free gum in case I get a craving! I also keep my netbook handy to keep my hands busy, like now!

I think its not the tv its the snack choice...try having a healthier snack when enjoying a good show...I dont watch so much tv but im an internet junkie so instead of sweet I am armed with my water and some hummus and pita
  • This was always a issues for me. I love popcorn and it is hard not to watch tv on Sundays and not eat any. You can have it, just put the amount you are allowed to have in a bowl and put the rest away. If I don't do that with chips when I do eat them.. well you know.. I blow it. Keep trying and don't let this one time keep you from achieving your goal. Like riding a bike.. if you fall off get back on. Here's to a great start for the new week ahead.

I take a quarter cup of corn kernels and put it in a brown paper lunch bag. Then I microwave it until it stops popping. Not a lot sticks to it because t has no oil but it has low calories. Its like 90 calories for 3 cups. I love to crunch crunch crunch. This helps. I have been trying to stop using food as entertainment but sometimes you just need to crucnch.

I too have this problem.... I started back cross stitching as I need to have clean hands and it keeps me occupied. I will sometimes have a cup of herbal tea or a lite hot chocolate to sip on.
Take up a craft of some sort; knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, etc.
Weekends are difficult, because we are out of routine. Make sure you get in some extra exercise so you can have a small something else.
Try buying the mini bags of microwave popcorn~ that way your portion is controlled.
    Good luck!
