Very confused !

Have been trying to eat healthy but noticed the scale doesn't want to budge ! Just thought I would try a dress on that usually tells me the truth and I could do it up easily ? I am very confused at this because the scale tells me different? Have just recently came off beta blockers could that have been the reason why I was finding it hard to loose weight ? Why is the scale not showing weight loss ? Can anyone explain ?

weight loss does not come from eating "healthy" it comes from being in a calorie deficit. And since you have nothing logged in your diary it's hard to tell if you are in a deficit.
As for being able to zip up a dress...not sure what that has to do with what the scale says...could you not zip it up before? or was it more difficult?
sometimes water retention can "plump" you up and make things appear tighter...0 -
It depends on what kind of exercise and stuff you are doing. For example, do you use weights? When you use things which strengthen and build muscle, it can cause our weight to remain stable or even go up, but dress sizes to drop. ^_^ I have heard that beta blockers can cause weight gain or slow the process of weight loss, so going by that I would believe that you would see a drop or maintenance of your weight now that you are off them
As a person with PCOS I find it hard to shift weight, and have fit into a UK 10, 12 and 14 while being 11 stone 7 as my body size has decreased but my weight has remained the same.0 -
Ok first of all I am not on a strict diet ...I am a uk size 8 and am going on holiday and wanted to eat a bit healthy before I go away as I will probably pig out a bit ...that's why I haven't logged a diary ...but I do still come here from time to time for a bit of support if I am confused about anything as I used to use MFP all the time ...perhaps I should have said the dress has always been tight and now I can do it up but the scale hadn't shown i had lost anything was just a bit confused as to why that would be ...I should have explained myself better apologies0

I wouldn't worry about the scale weight it could be as simple as some water being flushed out or your scale not being accurate.
As long as you are happy with the dress fitting why does what the scale matter?0
