Anyone ever ordered/seen a "diet plate"?

I live in the rural Midwest, and I have seen something called a "diet plate" or "dieters delight" on some of the menus here. (I had one tonight!)
It's basically a grilled chicken breast, a cup of cottage cheese, one or more hard boiled eggs, some sliced cucumbers or tomatoes, and canned peaches or jello as dessert.
I read online these came out in the 70's, with the rise of weight watchers, and they are definitely rare to see on a menu nowadays.
I liked mine, and my dining companions laughed at how "retro" looking my dinner was. Tasted good, and since I wasn't born until the late eighties, it's all new to me.

I have actually seen one at a restaurant/bar. Which was weird because they are more known for their bar than their food. But they used a hamburger patty instead of the chicken.0

A Danish restuarant chain here in Norway offers beef or chicken with double amount of vegetables instead of potatoes. I sort of contemplated it, but I wanted fries that day0

Never heard of them, but would be nice if there were more around.0

My first thought was - how many calories?0

I live on the East Coast, and lots of diners have them on the menu. Sounds so horrible to me. Yuck. There are so many other things you can order or modify to eat healthfully in a restaurant (in my opinion/experience).0

Hahahaha....this is funny! This gives friends and family even more reasons to pick on us.....
In my area, they have 'Logan's Roadhouse', and there is a 'Health Nut' section on their menu. The items are smaller and leaner versions of the regular menu, and it's less obvious that you're on a diet....sorry...healthier lifestyle.....lol0 -
I have lost 25 percent of my body weight, so I don't hide the fact I watch my calories, I mean, it's clear something's up. Lol.0

Hahahaha! Congrats! You did great! But you know friends and family....they have no control of their disapproving comments...or their own food intake for that matter......lol0 -
Used to see those on Denny's menus back in the day. Also, sounds about the same as a standard hospital meal for patients0

We used to joke that any meal, with cottage cheese added made it a diet plate.
That being said - haven't seen one in a long time, but not opposed to it if my mood is right (and I don't have to have fries at that moment)0 -
Let's see...

Sounds pretty nasty to me. I'll bet the chicken was rubbery and had those fake "grill" marks on it, the tomato was flavorless, and I don't even consider canned peaches and jello to be food.0 -

It tasted good to me, and everything was good fresh to order. Don't knock it till ya try it.0 -
OK, you're right. I wasn't there. But don't try to convince me that jello is "good" in any way, shape, or form! LOL0
