Exercising concessions due to the heat

Yesterday I went on my regular Saturday morning 6+mile hike and definitely felt the efforts of Texas heat and humidity. I had to cut the hike short by 1.5miles because I was feeling more fatigued than usual. ETA: I can easily do the hike in cooler temperatures. I also am concerned for my workout partner, my 16mo heeler pup. The fact that my shoes need to be replaced and I am feeling the strain of improper support also added to me decision to end my hike earlier than usual. I know I could have pushed on and completed the 6 miles, but because I know there is a fine line between hard-core fitness and fool-hardy fitness, I opted to err on the side of caution.

What concessions, if any, do you make when walking/jogging/running/biking in high temps (90+ degrees) and humidity?

I get up earlier. I choose running over sleep. Finished 13.1 miles before 7:30 am today.

I will try to run early, or after dark. I live in a small town, and running at night poses no issues. If I'm running 6 miles or more, I will head out before hand and drop water, because I hate carrying things when I run. When I ride, I try to change my route so I hit a town or convenience store every 20 miles.

I've done 6+ miles with a 20kg pack in 110F high-humidity conditions. More water and bring orange juice help a lot; that's about the concessions I'll make.

I tend to choose my time and location and type of workout based on the heat. I ran yesterday in 92 degrees, and it was a little more difficult than it should have been, but I was well hydrated and did fine. We've hiked recently in 90 degree heat, and I carry a 1.5L camel pak filled with ice and water. Mostly ice that melts as the hike goes on.

I ride my bike more than run, and I'm not as affected by the heat when I do. When I'm on a beach,I can keep my feet in the water (barefoot running) and it keeps me mostly cool. I don't make it to the beach as often, so I've stopped running as much.

I lift inside a gym, or on my pool deck. I hit the heavy bag outside, but usually early morning right after my husband leaves for work.

I'd get up earlier but I hate mornings. I drink water and deal with the heat. That said, your hiking companion won't deal with the heat well so make sure you bring water.

Hydrate well before, bring water for my pup, go earlier or later, and I sometimes go slower than usual.
