Any 1200 cals Open diaries

Hi,

I'm looking for motivation and would love if you'd add me. I'm finding it quite hard each day on 1200 which leads me to feel I am just being greedy because other people manage it but I'd love to know your thoughts if you are on a 1200 day and if you have any tips on the best way to get more bang for your buck?

I am also contemplating doing a few weeks of low carb again because it took that ravenous appetite away that has took only two weeks to come back two fold since adding carbs back in. I always feel so energised when in ketosis for the first few weeks before burning out and feeling terrible so I like to chop and change to make it as comfortable as possible.

My concern on here for low carb is good meats are so high in calories so if you are low carbing how do you incorporate that in to your diary without seeing red numbers everywhere?

    Hi!

I do 1200, and eat extra when I exercise (usually 150- 350 extra calories). You can look at my diary, I'll add you as a friend.

I don't do Lo-carb per se, but I have celiac disease and a yeast allergy so most bread/ carby things are out. And I try to stay clear of lots of processed foods.I do eat a lot of fruit, though, this gets my carbs up.

I've noticed if I make lots of mini-meals I feel more satiated. So instead of just eating some fruit or only eating nuts I'll make small portions of say, melon, prosciutto and walnuts. The varied textures and flavors makes me feel more full. I also make most of my dinners from scratch so I can really control what goes in. (Plus I LOVE to cook!) For example last night I made pan fried chicken, and instead of dredging it in flour I used coconut flour. Then I had a pineapple lying around so made some pineapple salsa with it. Feel free to ask if you see anything on my diary and want a recipe!

    Hi!

Whatever you do, do not add me...viewing my diary would cause too much temptation and make you insanely jealous! Some days I consume 2600 calories by earning 800 eat back calories by doing lots and lots of cardio! I've been known to eat half a giant reeces peanut butter egg or maybe snack on dark chocolate Hershey's kisses all day :-S

Okay you can add me if you want, but remember "I told you not too" :P

Also want to add I'm very much a work in progress! I've been logging for almost a month and have learned a lot in that amount of time about what is worth eating and what isn't. I am trying to make better choices, too :) and also welcome ideas!

I found at first it was hard to stay below 1200 but I got the hang of it 200or so for breakfast 200 or so for lunch and the rest for dinner and if I work out I can have ice cream! I don't do low carb just low calorie some days it's hard to remember to eat enough.

I've found that if I stuff myself with vegetables, I'm fuller and I can indulge throughout the day (sparingly). I'm at 1270 cals for the day, but I also exercise and gain some allowance that way. I'd be happy to add you so you can see my diary! (I'm far from perfect, though)

I've tried to adopt a raw vegan diet for breakfast and lunch. I'm not a huge fan of meat, although I'll still eat it if I'm in the mood. Really, the raw food is just a super easy way for me to make sure that I'm eating well. I love to cook, but sometimes that gets in the way of me making healthy choices. Try to eat dark green veggies if nothing else... but the more colors you eat, the better! :flowerforyou: I'm also a huge fan of smoothies, but those may be too high carb if they're the wrong combo of ingredients.

I also drink a huge glass of water before any meal or snack, plus I drink hot tea throughout the day. Liquids help me feel fuller, but it's definitely an adjustment.

Maybe that will work both ways, I can not eat chicken. I'm not allergic to chicken...I can eat eggs, but I am allergic to a couple of the chemicals most chicken is processed with. Enjoying a nice chicken wing would be a trip to the ER for me! I haven't eaten chicken in over 20 years! Sometimes, I eat chicken flavored rice, and maybe a chicken flavored ramen noodles...that's as brave as I get.

I went to Turkey when I was a teenager (so... like, last year) and they had a sweet dessert that I tried. Served in an innocuous little cup and looking so pleasant was Burnt Chicken Skin Pudding! I guess you couldn't eat that one either :ohwell:
