Ok so here lately I have seen tons of posts touting the importance of strength training, but I do not have a gym membership. I cannot afford it just yet. But I do have one of those total gym machines, (it is quielty growing dust as we speak) Can anyone give me any recommendations? I am 5 foot 5 and 371 I walk 2 miles a day 5 or 6 days a week, and swim in the ocean on the weekends. I would love to hear some advice!! Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert when it comes to those total gym machines... The strength training that's talked about the most on here is lifting heavy weights with barbells, dumb bells & body weight. You may be able to google some strength training routines for a total gym machine.

Check out the exercises that came with the total gym, if you don't have them, I sure you can use the google. Also check out Fitness Blender on YouTube. They have tons of videos using both dumbbells and body weight exercises.
