First time in high school there was 135 on the bar and I threw it up a few times. Like 6?

My wife weighs about 135, so I'm going with that... :blushing:

A combination of the words "stun" and "dong," it literally means stunning penis but in practice is more often used in place of the word strong. When used in place of strong, stong either implies an association with or jokingly refers to a stunning penis or implies male dominance in general. Stong is a form of sexual innuendo and can be used as a noun or adjective.

how about a typo of the word strong?

first time i benched EVER was in grade nine, managed to do 135 to the chest

in gr 12 i managed 225 to the chest without ever seriously lifting weights but i was very involved in sports and i did do some weight training throughout highschool, but i didnt really know what i was doing in the gym at that time

Seems like I was pressing about 240 lbs when I was playing football in the Marine Corps. Most I ever lifted was 305. I have no idea what I can press now. I have a Bowflex that says I am pressing 210, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Wow... when I was a freshman in high school... I could bench my weight. 145. And I'm a girl. Now, I'd probably be lucky to do 100, but I haven't tried a straight-up bench in a while.

I did 95# my first time benching (body weight 135), which I was pretty proud of.... but now I'm all ashamed by the 145# bench.

Still gunning for big plates, myself.

The bar. Now I am up to 105 only because I have been slacking off on my bench press lately.

Also, as I'm not naturally strong (and certainly not on bench press), I have little else to contribute besides derailment.

FWIW, I started at 125 for sets as a fully grown adult a few years ago. You read that correctly. Now capable of 245 for sets of eight. I have significant doubts about reaching 300.
if you're popping off sets of 245 for 8 i think you'll be able to reach 300 with enough time and some hard work

that calculates to 304...I find myself the opposite of the calculators in that I can usually do a higher 1 RM than what the calculator predicts on 5-8 reps.

well i consider myself strong for my size so i will answer. When I first started lifting seriously i benched the bar plus two ten plates on each side. I have always been about form though but I could also do two 25lbs plates on each side in a very crappy way.

I saw a teenage guy in the gym this morning. He was fairly skinny, so I assumed he would be rather weak. He was lifting insane amounts of weight with a fair amount of ease! Holy crap, it was impressive!

some football teens are insanely strong and they don't have developed physiques.

If you can't put up 315 on bench and 500 on deadlift your first year lifting, you are not naturally strong. I sure wasnt. Many highschoolers put up those numbers their first year weightlifting. Those are the future competitive powerlifters.

I was 5'9" 150 lbs going into highschool. Was probably benching around 150. Left highschool 5'10" 225 lbs and could do 325 a few reps each time I tried.
