ex-vegetarian need more protein! (and help w/ macros?)

Soooo I never really paid much attention to macros, but now I'm learning about them and realizing that my diet is hugely carbs with a lot of fat, and very little protein.

I'm trying to lose weight, I have a really high body fat %, and I've seen so many different percentages for macros I don't really know what to do. I read super high protein and super low carbs to lose fat, but that it's not healthy to eat too few carbs, so I should eat more carbs than protein....I DON"T KNOW. But even for a pretty normal protein range I don't think I'm getting enough. Even if I have a day where I'm over my calorie max, I still have extra protein leftover.

So if you have good suggestions for protein intake that are not like protein shakes or bars, I would really appreciate it. And if you have any advice for my macros that would be awesome too!!! Thanks!!

Since you are an ex-vegetarian, I am guessing you are willing to eat meat. So I would suggest chicken breast, extra lean ground turkey, fish, and extra lean ground beef. You don't have to get extra lean but I prefer it so I can get my fat from nuts or avacados.
