Cutting...

...my hairrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I said it. Hubs gonna be mad, but I am totally gonna cut my hair in a big surprise way. Any round faced people out there with those hairstyles that are good for people with round faces? Share please. LOL. Round. No seriously face shape is a thing, I think, and ppl say your style can be more flattering if you consider your face shape. So I have to consider that but also how easy it is to manage for workouts. I prefer not to wear ponytails b/c they give me headaches. Pretty easy, so yeah if your style is easy breezy and even for working out I want to hear from YOU! pic's would be best.

I mean my hair is long and big and when I'm throwing a gig it just can't help it's self it's acting like an animal...especially in the summer.

So going shorter, how short depends on the cuteness of the styles posted here.

Also please include if it's easy to care for while working out how you keep it out of your way and wash/style b/c that's a big concern and major reason I keep it long to braid it out of my way.

...I should add that round face shape is not really about being fat. My face shape is round even when thin so I know there will be many people at many fitness levels who have styles on their round faces.

other face shapes include heart, rectangle, etc. and yeah this is NOT like a fruit shape thread, this is a legit thing. Srsly.

Sersly if you tell me how to cut my hair I'll do it exactly like you say, b/c this is the internet after all.

You could try a bob that hits just under your jawline. I think those suit people with round faces and it wouldn't be hard to clip back while you're exercising.

Go to a beauty supply store and try on some wigs that way you can see what works before committing to something you might regret later. :drinker:

My face is round - and I've gone really short before (reverse bob). I think the most flattering style for our face shape is around shoulder length (or just above), with some nice layers and a face frame.

But seriously, I think anyone can get away with any hairstyle they want - as long as it makes them feel confident.

I have a pretty round face and I cut my hair in a long bob. Right now it is right on my shoulders. I used to have pretty long hair but it would always give me a headache if I had a ponytail all day, so I just chopped it off! Such a great decision. With the long bob I can still get it into a ponytail with a few pins, but it dries a lot faster and the change was really refreshing.

I'm somewhere between oval and round. I love the look of a pixie cut, but you don't want to send hubby too far over the edge lol

    1) what's a reverse bob?
    2) my hair has NEVER made me feel confident. i rely on my boobs for that.

Super short in the back, longer (chin length) in the front. It's a great summer cut.

I have a huge frizz ball that is my hair. It's not straight, it's not curly - it's just blah. So most days I, too, rely on my boobs for confidence.

i like how your hair looks in your pic. and the girl above you too. similar styles both cute. it seems like you are almost all unanimous. except for that one tiny male voice way in the background.

Best thing I've ever heard on MFP
  • Hi :) I have a very very round face, literally like a baby, and I've always been too scared to cut my hair short!! For me what works is simplicity, I have medium/long layered hair with a side fringe, seems to work for me!! The shortest I ever went was shoulder length and it actually looked really nice, so maybe cut in stages and see how it goes?

When I go short, my hair goes nice and straight and behaves pretty well.

*do it, do it* <---- imagine this like a frat party where I'm encouraging you to shotgun a beer.
