Ummm, wish I could help but I have the exact same problem! I do great all day but nights are a different story and I am a total night person and like to stay up really late so that doesn't help either. The only thing I have found which kind of helps is making sure I drink lots and lots of water during the day (which I haven't been doing). :frown:0

make sure the foods you are eating during the evening are filling and fibrous. When you find yourself thinking of food in the later hours, if you've left room in your calorie goal, have some carrots or celery sticks. Do some exercise, read a book, watch a movie. Try to take your mind off of it. Once you get out of the habit, it will get easier not to munch every night.0

i, too, want to snack in the evenings. i budget the calories by removing some from my meals and adding them to my before bed snack. also when you feel like snacking, try coming here and reading the boards or looking up fitness equipment or something like that.0

I also have this problem. I recently found out that the best way to combat the midnight munchies is to have a Granny Smith apple and a cup of almond milk. It might not be the most appetizing thing but it does keep your appetite in check. Also keep a large bottle of water near you bed (SOMETIMES it just might be thirst masking as hunger).
Good Luck!0 -
My sister told me of a great way she found. She is a big night snacker. She snacks on sunflower seeds. The are small, take a lot of time to open, and still satisfy the urge to snack without a lot of calories.0

I know exactly what you mean. I like to snack at night. What's changed with me--is that I snack less, and what I snack on is a low fat yogurt, an orange or watermelon. Albeit if my calorie count will allow for the day? I may have an ice cream cone.0

I keep water with me at all times, but I think what helps me the most is pre logging my night time snack food. Once i log dinner and see where I am at for calories and my macros I log one or two foods that I know will be filling, yummy, and fit into my daily goal. Then when I feel like snacking I go and grab the "approved" snack food for the evening and enjoy it guilt free.0

I hear you! The only thing that works for me is when I get home from work, cook & eat dinner, go to the gym, come home at 9.00 pm, take a shower and go straight to bed (bypassing the kitchen). So I guess my answer to your question is to not allow yourself any time to snack past dinner. I find that watching TV is a major snack trigger for me.0

I always try to save a big meal/snack at night for this reason0
