The only good thing about having been afflicted by depression before is recognizing when it's coming through again. Having a hard time wanting to stay awake and be active....having a hard time staying motivated for anything...having an extremely hard time logging when I know I've already gone over - the "why log, I know I went over, I don't think I can deal with how bad the final total is" thing.
It doesn't help that I have general aches and pains that require constant medicaiton - undoubtedly made worse by the depression. I don't want to go on meds again...so I turn to you all - any words of wisdom, encouragement, swift kicks in the @$$ - all are welcome. You would think the feeling of being a useless, ever expanding, disgusting lump would be motivating enough; alas, it is not.

This is why we're here, right? I need help, please!

Thanks!

I'm having great results on my mood with fish oil (I use Innovix Labs Triple Strength, no fishy aftertaste).

ETA: Oh, I'm a nurse too! Do you work nights or days?

My current position is Department Head Ancillary Services on a tiny island that has only 2 nurses - and my other half is on vacation right now so it's just me for a population of about 3000. I rarely get to do bedside nursing any more (boo!). So, from an ER rotating between days and nights every month, I am now an admin b*tch lol Except when we get a patient, and then I can be up for 3 days straight while we're waiting for the air ambulance to show up. It makes for an interesting situation.

Sounds like it. A woman in one of my classes (I'm also in NP school) lives on St. John. I actually got on the net looking at jobs at their hospital! I think living in a warmer/sunnier climate would help me. I always get SAD in the winter.
