How to stop compulsive eating

Options
Yes, I've been to therapy many many times, but no one really specializing in compulsive eating behaviours. Does anyone have any tips or resources on how to stop compulsive eating? Also I WILL NOT do OA. I've done it several times before and do not want to again. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm not very helpful, I'm trying to understand this myself. I'm curious to see others' replies.

Well I have a tendency to start eating more and more and more once i take a bit of something or smell something or see something that looks good.....
...I have been taking a pill called Lipofuze i got it off of Ebay and I have also been drinking LOTS of water 6-8 16.9oz bottles a day!
I drink at least 16.9 oz before eating ANY meal and I swear im not even hungry so full off of hardly nothing it makes me sick to eat!
you can also go to my profile and view my daily food diary to see what i am eating if you would like=)
I have lost 20lbs in the past 20days=) Good luck to you!

I started drinking more water! I can't stand water because it makes me more thirsty! well then listen to your body. If you feel like you need more water drink it! Make sure you stop drinking it by 6 pm or you will be up all night.

I feel like I am a compulsive eater. If I know i have something in the cabinets I want to eat it. So clean out those monsters. Don't keep it in the house. If you really, really want it you will have to go get it. If you really want it, then drive to the store and buy something else. Get frozen yogurt ice cream or a yummy yogurt. They have many good flavored yogurts now. I do not keep ice cream in my house because I will eat it. There are also frozen fruit bars that are low calories, like the coconut frozen bars. I have 2 still in my freezer and I bought a box of 6 over 7 months ago. You also have to incorporate will power. Look at the food and throw it away! You have to know it won't win.

    Hope this helped some...

I find that when I start the day off right with exercising that it sets the mood for the rest of the day. I also find that when I let myself get too hungry I tend to over eat too. I hope this helps.

I have recently been looking into cognitive behavior therapy for the same thing!
I am a compulsive eater, and a mood eater, and a busy eater, and a boredom eater, you name it, I eat it! :)
I am looking to break the cycle, and know the change comes from within, not a fancy diet or pill (although I know those can help in the short term). I am looking at redefining the way I think for a life long change.
    Good luck on your journey!
