Toning + cardio - what to do?

After two kids I am very wobbly and need to lose about 1/2 - 1 stone and tone up a wobbly tum and thighs. I dip in and out of running but going to MAKE myself do it rather than grumbling about it...
Anyone know best toning exercises to do before/after (?) a 5k run 3 x per week? (I have been running on and off 3.5k so couple time a week so hoping can increase up to 5k easily).
I use the food diary which I used to get rid of my baby weight and love it. I eat fairly well except on dinners out and weekend lunches where I splurge a bit but think 80/20 is a good approach
Thanks all

As a professional I will let you know there are no such exercises called "toning" exercises. Muscle is either conditioned or not and usually achieved with respectable resistance put on it. This is called "resistance training" and involves basically every voluntary muscle from your neck on down.
Work on doing full body workout with at least one exercise per body part for a minimum of 2 sets and a medium target of reps (10-12).

And if you are just looking for muscle definition, which is what people wanting to 'tone' are generally looking for, that comes from simply losing enough body fat that the muscles underneath peek through. Sit ups or crunches won't give you a six pack, eating less than your body burns in a day will eventually (key word there) expose those abdominal or gluteus muscles. If you are currently losing weight, just keep on keeping on.0
