Vacation / Road Trip!

Okay so in a month's time my family and I are going on a road trip to a few amusement parks, which will take a bout a week.
A week of eating out for every meal, carnival food, and little time to work out!!!
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to eat healthy in restaurants and amusement parks, and how to fit in exercise time? I don't want to gain weight, but I don't want to miss out, either!

I've been using an app called Healthy Out. It has listings of most major chain restaurants so I can find menu items which meet my requirements. You can also just use your smartphone to look up the menu while at a restaurant to help you determine nutritional values. If they don't have a website, log in here and check the food list for something similar.
You'll be walking a lot at the parks which will help a lot. If you don't mind a few side glances, you could do a few squats, stretches etc while standing in lines. On days you aren't at a park, make a point of moving as much as you can. When we make long distance drives, we stop every 2-3 hrs for a short break. I stretch, do some squats and walk around for several minutes.
Park foods will be a challenge but try to go for items that aren't fried or covered in a sauce. Stick to water or diet beverages to keep hydrated and save on those calories. I try to pick out one treat a day then make better selections the rest of the time. You could also tuck a healthier snack bar or some sugar free candies in your pocket before you go in.
In the end, you will likely pick up a bit of water weight due to higher salt contents so don't be alarmed at your first weigh in. You should lose that again within a week or two afterwards. Just get right back onto your plan as soon as you return and it'll be fine. A little break is good for both mind and body.0 -
Or just enjoy it... it's a vacation and there's no reason to get too stressed about it.
Eat extra healthy the week before and after. Get in a little extra exercise time the week before and after. Try not to make insanely bad food choices over and over again for the whole week (i.e. only one foot long corn dog a day, not three) and you'll be fine.
There's no point to being healthy if it also means being scared of a few days of careless fun with the family.
Now if you go on vacation every other month it might be an issue...0 -

You will likely be burning alot of calories just by walking around all day and going on rides at the park. Just enjoy your vacation and maybe stay away from the funnel cake.0
