Finding time

I use to go to the Gym at least 6 times a week. At the moment I have not been in about a month as I am finding it difficult to find the time. I get up by 6am to be in work by 7am. I then don't come home for work until gone 7pm, by this time I am way too tired to go to the Gym. I need to try and find the motivation to get over the tiredness and to get my *kitten* to the gym somehow but it is more difficult then I anticipated. HELP!!!!!!

It's not about finding the time it's about making it a priority and dedicating time for it. Do you find time to shower or do you just get it done? Schedule time in your day and than stick to the schedule.
On my really busy weeks I wake up at 3:30 to get my workout in. If it's important to you, you will make it a priority.0 -
Dedication to exercise is the great time creator. People often ask me how I do it...work full time, 4 kids, homecooked meals, clean house, nursing school, AND endurance running. My answer is the same every time: the endurance running creates both the time and the energy for everything else. I have more free time after dedicating hours at a time to hitting the pavement. I have to use free time more effectively, I have to appreciate hours put in before daylight and get enough sleep, I have to cook healthy meals to fuel it all...I have to get that paper done so I have time for my long run saturday before the girls dance recital!!!
So just dedicate yourself to it! You will have more energy AND more time! I am a firm believer in this0 -
I typically get up around 4am on weekdays just to fit in the things that I care about during the day (which includes being a single parent & working 9+ hour days). If you care about something, you'll find/make time for it.0

Ditto what everyone else said - also: you don't have to go to a gym to get exercise.0

I make myself do it by booking into a class, this way i feel obliged to turn up even if i can't be bothered. Having said that, i'm always really pleased i did it... once it's finished!0

Wake up at 430 to be at the gym by 5. Work out for an hour or so, then shower and change, and then go to work.
Try this one or twice and see if it works for you.0 -
You could get up earlier to stop at a gym before work or stop at the gym after work, even though you're tired...once you start working out, most likely you'll have more energy.
You can also look into what kinds of activities you can do on your breaks (do you get two 15 minute breaks through the day, and a lunch break?). I used to work at a hospital as a registration clerk and was sitting all day but on both of my 15 minute breaks I would walk the stairs in our building. It was 4 floors so I'd be able to walk up (I'd take the elevator down) about 3 times depending on how I felt. That's pretty much 25 minutes of your heart rate being up enough to count as a good workout.0 -
i have similar schedule. i go as soon as i return to the city from work.
i already know that waking up earlier will not happen and i can't get the workout i want at lunchtime, so it has to be after work0 -
Finding the time to workout can be difficult for everyone. As a single mom "finding the time is the story of my life!" Don't get discouraged, gyms are great but not the only way to get in shape. If you aren't able to get an hour of gym time (which is actually more than an hour depending on travel) try doing short bursts of cardio throughout the day. I'm not sure what your specific goal is but a faster metabolism is something everyone wants. This is a great way to achieve that. With ten minutes of cardio (something that gets you breathing heavily any gets that heart rate up), your metabolism will speed up and will continue to work at a higher more efficient rate for about an hour and 30 minutes. If you can get several small workouts throughout the day you'll greatly increase your metabolic rate. And after a while of doing that your metabolism will be trained to work at a higher rate in general. 10 minutes of power walking around an office building or doing jumping jacks or running in place...etc, 4 pr 5 times a day can be a lot easier to accomplish that an hour at the gym and is a lot less expensive.0

If you want it badly enough, you'll find a way to do it.
You need to ask yourself how badly you want to do it.0
