Accuracy of the MFP Recommended Cals, Fat, Sodium, etc.?

How Accurate are the MFP Recommended Calorie intake, Fat intake, Sodium, etc.? Sometimes I am way under them and other times I go ove on one or two (sugar and sodium usually).

Also, is more protein (than the recommended amount) bad?

The MFP default recommendations for nutrients seem to be those recommended by the Institute of Medicine for the general public.

Eating more protein is not bad, in fact it is probably good to eat a little over, if you are healthy. If you have any medical diagnoses or disorders, you should check with your doctor.

They are not personalized at all so they're not accurate. There are so many varying factors with each individual, but the numbers mfp gives are a good starting point if you have no clue. They also don't take your goals into account other than if you want to lose weight or gain weight. more protein is good, especially if you want to gain muscle
