I am trying to lose 10 lbs. My calculated goal says 177 carb grams per day! and 71 grams of protein. I am 5'7 and 144lbs. I work out 4 times a week. This doesn't seem right, does it to any of you? Please advise, thanks so much!!

How many calories are you eating per day? Ideally, you probably want 55-65% of your intake to be carbs, 25-30 % proteins,
and the remainder from healthy fats. 177 sounds a little low. What do you do for workouts? What are your goals after the10 pound
loss? Sorry to answer your question with other questions, but knowing this will help with a better answer to yours.0 -
Mine are over 200. And I still go over sometimes and have managed to lost 16lbs in 90 days (with .5lb/week loss set).
Your macros look fine. I would also make sure that you are setting your goal for .5lb/week as well, since you have only 10lbs to lose. You should be eating a lot of protein; MFP sets it lower, and you can have more than what they recommend and still be fine.0 -
why doesn't it seem right to you?0

Do you think 177 carbs is high or low? Unless you are on a low carb diet a good portion of your calories will come from carbs. Remember that carbs aren't just refined sugars. Dietary fiber is also part of your carbs. Vegetables are mostly carbs (very low calorie ones but still carbs).0

Mine are 185carb/46fat/123protein. From IIFYM (which I used to set my calorie goal and macros). Goal is to maintain LBM and lose fat as slowly as possible to keep my muscle. My goal weight is not correct on my ticker (need to change it, stat).

I'm focusing on lowering BF% and gaining strength, and what the tape measure and mirror shows me.0 -

If you struggle to maintain a deficit while eating carbs then yes otherwise that number most probably have no affect on your weight loss unless you go over your calorie goal0 -
The carbs sound about right but the protein is a little low. I have mine set to 45% carb/25% protein/30% fat. I'm 5'7, 155 lb, trying to get to 145. If your exercise gives you more calories/carbs/protein/fat, eat it. I personally don't worry about carbs, other than meeting my fiber minimum, as long as I hit my protein and fat goals. Before exercise I get 178g carbs, 53g fat, and 99g protein. I try to meet the fat and get a minimum of 80g protein but try to get close to 100g.0

Without knowing how many calories you're eating daily,
Protein should be around .82grams per body weight. 177 x .82 = 118 grams.
Fat should be around .45 grams per body weight. 177 x .45 = 65 grams.
Carb should be the remaining calories.
Of course, these are just general guidelines. Protein could be as low as .6 and as high as 1.2. Fats should stay in the half-your-body-weight in grams ballpark.0
