I am just finishing the Recovery Week (Start Month 2 on Monday)

If you are starting out I would give a coulpe of peices of advice:

    1) with all the jumping Month 1 does, make sure you land gently on your knees (I thought I was, but obviously not.. Am in quite a bit of pain in my knees at the moment.. Hoping it will clear up soon)

    2) Buy yourself som Magnesium Oil (Its not actually an oil - You can buy as a spray and as Flakes for your Bath) These are a godsend in your first week.

I couldnt walk for the first 4 days due to the shock I gave my muscles lol... The magnesium oil soaks into your muscles and behaves very much like protein (it helps to heal aching muscles quickly) I was pain free within a few days after buying the oil.

    3) Dont get disheartened if you cant keep up with the exercises (they are designed to be a struggle for people that are fit as well as newbies... Just push yourself the best you can... You WILL see improvements :)

    4) Enjoy it :) ... Its hard work, But you feel epic afterwards

    Good Luck

Dig Deeper and LETS GOOOOO!!!!!! :D

My Month 1, Day 1 consisted of:

Pulling my calf muscles in the WARM UP :embarassed:
then continuing through the Fit Test
and finding the following day that my calfs REFUSED to move and my Inner Thighs (right in the hip joints) were VERY unhappy with me....
... Now is probably a good time to mention that I ride a motorcycle for an hour to get to wrok each day, and an hour home again.... I couldnt get my leg over the bike.. and cried out in pain ever time i hit a pothole (I work in London.. there are A LOT of pot holes)

lmao... I still wouldnt change anything tho :D

    :drinker:

You can do it, set your sites and go for it, this is what I tell myself. I express gratitude for my health and my ability to make a dessision to better myself, find a moto that works for you, plan a few treats for yourself.
Just started insanity this week 6/9/14, set my work out time for 6am, I am a morning person, my husband mite disagree haha, my aim is to build muscle, reduce body fat by the end of it. I'm 34 years of age, height 5.9, body fat 16% , weight 135-136# , I am hoping I can stick with it, if I complete 1 month I will get a 90minute massage, month 2 I will take myself out shopping for a new outfit, I am using this as motivation , my desire is not to be skinny but be strong, have more muscle then body fat.

I have a hugh appetite this was never a problem when I lived a more active outdoors lifestyle, but that all stopped when i moved to another country and got married, if I'm honest I think I went into shock and lost myself , I'm ready to focus on the future ,find my confidence again.

Would love an exercise buddy and advice, there is so much I have to learn about nutritionand exercise. The hardest thing for me is working out my in take of calories, I have to eat 1200 a day with the aim to lose 1.4 # a week, the thing is when I work out I burn calories, so far the averaged calories burned a day has been 300, do I have to eat back those 300 calories, I have read so many different opions, advise would be so welcomed.

We can do this, visualize what you want from this, how you will feel and look, I find this really helpful. Good look,

I know what you mean. Im going to add you we can check up on each other. Im eating less than 1200 calories a day. For some strange reason I have no appetite. I use to eat alot of junk food but I cut that out started drinking water, smoothie and sometimes a heavy dinner. Im not trying to put myself in starvation mode but I dont know what happened to my appetite

You won't build any muscle doing insanity, it's essentially cardio.

Eating less than 1200 cals while doing insanity is a recipe for burnout within the first 2 weeks. You need to fuel your workouts!

I started it on monday. I finished it on monday! I've been suffering with a spinal injury for a while, and thought i'd got it beat (so far, twice i've been referred for surgery, and twice i've walked out of the surgeons with no work done). Did the fit test on monday, did ok. Skipped day 2 as my child was being an excited little nightmare beast ALL DAMN NIGHT!, and on the wednesday, i realised that my spine hadn't taken so well to all the jumping and i could feel some compression.

So Insanity is back on hold for me. It's a shame, as i want to nail it down. But, being able to walk is more important.

I started it over the weekend and I am on day 3. This is my first round. For the past year I've been working up to Insanity. I started with Hip Hops Abs, Les Mills Pump, Rockin' Body, and T25 (got my nailed it shirt this week!!!!). Those workouts have prepared me for Insanity.

The workouts so far are hard but it is worth it. I feel much more energized and I feel like I can accomplish anything. Of course it is too early to speak like this but my goal is to finish and I can't wait to see the transformation. I'd say go for it and if you don't like it return it at no charge to you. Be prepared to sweat, be prepared to hurt, and be prepared to breathe hard minutes after the workout. There will be moments during the workout where you will just lay out on the floor during the break. Then two seconds in, you will have to jump back up to do the next workout. Yes, I stretched out on the floor for a long while lol. I even had to apologize to my carpet because there was so much sweat. LOL.

But overall, I like this workout. I'd say if you are hesitant start with T25 and work your way up.

Also know you have to follow the meal plans. If you want amazing results you have to eat clean and follow the nutritional guide. When I was on the other workout programs I didn't follow all of the meals but now I am and I am enjoying the clean eating. I feel much better and have more energy. The food isn't so bad actually. It is quite satisfying and my goal this time around is to stick to the meal plans.

Second round of Insanity and on Month 2, really love this workout programme.. have done T25 and Charlean Extreme, but this is by far the best for a good cardio work out... enjoy the experience
