Hello everyone - just started MFP with my hubby who is my main source of support, guidance and of course love
He thought it was a good idea to come on here to look for other supporters and maybe anyone who struggles with the effects of Lupus and Thyroid Disease as I do. Hope everyone is having a good, healthy eating week so far.

Hello and welcome to MFP!!! It's so exciting to know you have your husband as your no. 1 supporter on your journey. I do not have any Lupus or Thyroid Diseases but I do have IBS and minor Diverticulitis, so I have to avoid certain foods or it can become very difficult for me. I wish you the best of health and a happy journey here on MFPHello everyone - just started MFP with my hubby who is my main source of support, guidance and of course love

I do not have those issues either, but I do have Crohn's Disease, so I also have to avoid lots of foods as well, makes it quite a bit more difficult!! Good Luck!!!0

Welcome! MFP has a Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/770-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism
I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). I lost way more slowly than most MFPers, so be patient! But I did it just like everybody else—by eating at a deficit. Read this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants0 -
It might be a good idea to check out an auto immune protocol.
There are several great sites with loads of information and many people have had great success in managing flare ups/symptoms with this way of eating.

My mother-in-law has lupus. Her joints well up real bad and not to mention she is a personal trainer so it really knocks her down. She started this new wellness product called Thrive by Le-vel and now she is only having to do a shot once every two weeks. I wish he had this app so she can tell you firsthand how much it has changed her life. Something worth considering.0
