Shredding for the Wedding

I'm about 9 weeks into my diet/workout plan. I'm down about 7 pounds and have 6-10 more to reach my goal! I'm getting married in September so this is the final push! Anyone else shredding for the wedding?? :)

  • Well, its not my wedding but "a" wedding started this whole process for me. I went and got fitted for bridesmaid dresses for my little brothers wedding in October. I decided to order mine two sizes smaller, no turning back now :)

I'm hoping to be married next October, so I have plenty of time to lose the 30 lbs I'd like to lose. Good luck on your goal and congratulations on your wedding! Add me if you'd like.

Aug 30, 2014 here...I started seriously in March and am down 20ish lbs. I have to be careful not to lose too much or my dress wont be able to be altered small enough. I would be ok with that and so is my fiancé'. LOL

YAY Fellow September bride! Congrats to you! I have started my healthy, lifting lifestyle not specifically for my wedding but a nice coincidence. I've lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks and nearly 4 inches. My plan is to lose another 10-15 lbs by wedding day. I can't change too much as my dress is being made and cannot be altered later on.

im currently shredding for my wedding. mine isn't until may 2015 but this has been an ongoing weight lose project for a while and until I had lost a substantial amount I wouldn't book it. now I have and I need to shift the rest before I say I do!

feel free to add me. am friendly, a daily logger and always offer support to others on their journey x

I am getting married September 20th also! I have about 25lbs to lose total and I have lost 13lbs so far so I'm getting close! I started a boot camp 3 days a week that is very challenging and helping me get results quickly. I'm trying to stay away from cheese and processed stuff. It is really hard...even when I have a couple cheat meals a week the weight comes off, but I know the cleaner I eat the faster it goes! Congrats to all my fellow brides!

You are really doing well! Half way there. Seems the 20/21 of September are very popular days. Congrats on your upcoming marriage

  • My best friend is getting married in May. I aim to be at target for February so I have some wiggle room if I slip up for a while.

I'm getting married October 2015. I'm down about 30lbs so far, with maybe 10 (maybe 15??) to go. Most importantly though, i want to get my back and arms ripped by my day :) I wish you all the best!

I am getting married in May 2015. My fiancee and already killing it on his diet! He is down 30lbs. Time for me to get on board and amp up the motivation for both of us. Looking for friend to help me stay positive. I struggle with finding a way to relax and unplug that doesn't include my butt on the couch and a pint of ice cream!

I'm getting married September 2015 and I want to look and feel by best. I have a little over a year and my goal is to lose about 40 pounds -- that would still put me in the normal weight category. My fiance is one of those men who can work out for two weeks and have visible muscle definition and I'll work out for a month and nothing so even though he's a the best support system, he doesn't get what I'm going through. Add me as a friend if you need motivation or are willing to help me!

  • I'm newly engaged, no wedding date yet but I really need to lose weight before I can even think of wedding planning. You would think getting married would be great motivation but I have zero motivation :(

I think I might get proposed to in July so I'm starting early haha.
Is it just me, or are wedding dresses, while beautiful, rather bulky?

I'm not getting married, but I'm a "groomslady" in a friend's wedding over Labor Day weekend. I'm wearing a bridesmaids dress. When I ordered it, they wanted to order me a size 20 (I wear a 10 normally). They tried to tell me it was "because of my waist." No, it's actually because of my broad back and big boobs. I ended up order a 16, and it's loose in the waist and is fine in the chest (take that pushy bridal store). I'm working on toning my arms and legs for it :)

I'm a January 2015 bride and I am really struggling to lose weight. My fiance loves cookies, cakes, and donuts and I can't stop myself from joining him. I've ordered my dress but I have not yet had my first fitting so I have some time. I'd like to lose some back fat and tone my arms. I just need to stay motivated. Working full time, school part time, moving, and planning a wedding is really adding to the stress-related eating. Help! Asking for help is silly. I know exactly what I need to do. Make the time for more exercise and quit eating donuts! Good luck to you all :-)

Hey everyone! I actually just got married - June 7th , 2014! I just wanted to say keep up the good work and stay motivated, but if you happen not to reach your goal by your wedding day, don't beat yourself up. I had a weight loss goal that I wanted to reach by mine, and wasn't able to, but in the end it was ok, because my wedding was amazing, and I married my best friend, and love of my life and that is what mattered most. Just don't stress yourselves too much on the weight loss before the wedding, keep it in check. Wedding planning is stressful enough. But congrats in the goals and I hope you all reach them! Hugs!

Congrats and Good luck. My ex used to put on her wedding dress for anniversary fun. What I didn't know until years later is that she kept trying it on and exercised/dieted when she couldn't button all 80 buttons! Just a motivational thought so you can enjoy all your hard work for years and not just one day.

I'm a maid of honor in my sorority sister's wedding. It's coming up in October....though my original reason for stating on MFP was just a personal desire to lose weight and be healthier, it also helps to remember all those wedding pictures that will be taken a few months from now!!! I'm hoping that I will be down another 8-10 pounds or so by the time the wedding rolls around
