working out and eating healthy but gaining weight ???

Hi newbie here, i have been conscious of my weight since losing 3 stone 3 years ago for my wedding, i have since put on 1 stone and am finding really hard to lose again, i joined a gym 8 months ago and i do at least 5 classes a week both strength and cardio, i also run a few miles a couple of time a week, my eating and drinking habits have changed a lot i hardly drink at all only on special occasions and i follow jillian michaels programme, i have put another 3 pounds on and its really getting me down, i know i have built up muscle as i did my body composition yesterday and it has gone up but just dumb founded as to why i am not losing weight, oh and my composition also told me im obese arrrrggghhhh i weight 10 stone 12pounds and am 5.5 i want to be around 10 stone 3 not a lot to ask really ;(

Hi.. Muscle is heavier. The best way to monitor is by measuring waist hips etc. You may be heavier due to muscle tone. Don't give up I hadn't lost any weight one week but actually lost an inch of my waist! Go figure lol0

You will have to open up your diary if you want more specific feedback. 99% of the time if you are not losing like you expect it is because you are not creating the deficit you think. This means you are not logging your food accuratly enough and uder estimating intake or you are over estimating the amount you burn.

OK well i have a question for you if you lost 10lbs and gained 10 inches would you be happier? im guessing you've lost inches start measuring ditch the scale because unless youre a stick insect its tough to get healthy BMI look at my profile pic im overweight!!!! im 5ft and 10st 12/13. Id rather lose inches which the world can see than look good at home in private on the scale chin up hun you will get there go get your tape out is my advice0

Thanks very much, feeling much better already, seriously do think that i would have to be a stick insect to have a better report on the body composition. im just gonna keep eating healthy and excersicing and log it onto here, see if it helps thanks for your support. xx0

if i'm honest not all the time, i follow Jillian Michael diet but don't log in every day, im trying on here now so will hopefully keep on toop of it. thanks0
