I am finally getting back into running again. My first running goal is to run the 10 Mile Broad Street run in May 2011. I hope to get some 5ks and 5 milers in before that as well. After this, my goal is to start training for triathalons and I would love to add some people who do this are training to do this as well. I am extremely knowledgeable when it comes to running, biking I am okay, but I suck and no little for swimming, other than how to breathe. More importantly, I don't really know anything about participating in or training for a triathalon. Post so I can invite or send me an invite! Thanks!!!

I did my first (and only) tri last August, at that time I relaized in my open water swim that I REALLY need to improve my swim before I do this again . I'm a pretty avid runner and cyclist and went to the pool for the first time in months last Saturday. I'm hoping that over the winter, I can visit the pool on a more regular basis and start doing some tri's in 2011. I have a couple of half marathon's coming up and then I'm leaning towards a full for 2011 as well. I'm always looking for advice, support and motivation (especially on the swimming part).0

I have just started getting back into running after completing a 5K with my mom for the Breast Cancer Awareness. Just signed us up for another one in Nov. This one is going to be alot less crowed then the Komen for the cure. But what I might suggest is find a swim class at the YMCA or the local college that can teach you the correct form and breathing for swiming a triatholon. I took a class at the YMCA and it was great, but I have never done a Triatholon. So hopefully that is a idea for a starting point.0

Good for you!! I am a triathlete and LOVE it!! I did my first Half Ironman 70.3 this summer!! I've done sprint, Olympic, and Intermediate distance tri's also.
Let me know if you have questions. Check out http://www.beginnertriathlete.com for good beginner info.0 -
I was you last year... I started getting into spinning , but was already a swimming. not a runner at all ! only in soccer. So that was my weakest event. I have only done 2 tri a tri's since I had only just started, but love the challenge of pushing yourself and doing what most people think is crazy! Message me if you have questions!0

I plan on doing my first sprint triathalon in july 2011. I'm just getting into running, not a super great swimmer and probably havent rode a bike for over 12 years so this should be pretty interesting lol. I plan on starting to train in January feel free to add me if you want some support or laughs for that matter0

I am in the process of training for one in late July as well. I am finding a difficult tie balancing the training. In the past I have always been a runner and relied on that to keep my weight off. Now I feel like the switch in training is hurting me? Any advice on your training schedule?0
