Steven Wright is probably tops. Great really dry comedy.

I'm also way into Bob Newhart's old standup. If you have never heard his skit where Abner Doubleday tries to "pitch" his idea for baseball to a game manufacturer you need to. ("They'll Never Play Baseball")

From the newer folks, Ralphie May and Sarah Silverman.

Start a thread to find out who people's favourite comedians are only to find out some of them are dead already.

#1 for me right now is Louis CK. But I love Mitch Hedberg, Pablo Francisco, Felipe Esparza, Harland Williams, Jim Breuer, & George Lopez as well.
  • I don't think he does stand-up but DJ Qualls is a riot!

Too many to list. Probably, right now, Jon Mulaney and Hannibal Burress.

All time? Mitch Hedberg and it's not even close.

Paula Poundstone- she can make ANYTHING funny. Her performance at Harvard is still the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me is always better when she is on the panel.

I have lots I like, but I have to say my top three, in no particular order, are:

    Daniel Tosh
    Mitch Hedberg
    Ron White

I've seen Daniel Tosh and Ron White live, and I really wish I could have seen Mitch Hedberg live before he passed away.

I said Brian Regan. He's hilarious. We saw him in Huntsville a while back and it was great.
