People who intermittent fast, how does this plan look?

I'm new to intermittent fasting and want to give a shot after hearing some great things about it. So i've been doing research on it (both on the forums here and elswhere) and have seen a number of different IF patterns people have, a very popular one being the 16 hr fasting and 8 hr eating window (16/8)

But I was looking at this other plan on some other sites which I think would be more suited to me, as I do enjoy my breakfast and I think it would be difficult for me to not eat it every morning.

My plan is do a 24 hr fast x2 a week.

So for example: Dinner at 7pm Sunday, don't eat till 7pm Monday evening.
Dinner at 7pm Wednesday, don't eat till 7pm Thursday evening.

And eat regularly outside of those times!

People who intermittent fast, what's your opinion on this plan?
Thanks in advance!

Can't see anything wrong with that. I've experimented with various forms of IF over the years and find that the 5:2 protocol has worked best for me and I have followed it consistently for 18 months. I fast every Monday and Wednesday for 24 hours and break the fast with one 500 calorie meal. For the rest of the week I follow 16:8 fasting protocol. Just try it and see what works best for you.

That's how I do it when I want to cut down a bit. Looks good to me... Good luck!
  • Hey, I also do IF . I do a 16-8 and sometimes a 18-6. It has been working well for me. I have not tried the 24hr fast, as I have 4 small children and I just find it super hard trying to cook and feed them with out wanting to eat as well.
    Best of luck!

I have been doing 1MAD (one meal a day) for the last 17 days. Works great for me. Losing weight, have more energy. Give your plan a try. Gives your digestive system a chance to rest.

How does that look in terms of calories? I like to eat big meals but I don't think I could stomach 1,700 all in one go!

MFP has my calorie goal at 1200. I don't have a problem eating within that goal. Don't know how 1700 would be. I have a good healthy meal and a lovely dessert every day.
