Oh that's smart!
Used for soups and things where, after cooking, all the fat floats on the surface. If you freeze this device, then skim it along the surface, all the fat would solidify and stick to the "magnet", since the freezing temperature for fat is above room temperature, ths would actually work.0 -

If I could get this cheap I might try it. Trying to skim fat with a spoon (for taste/texture purposes, not weight loss) kind of sucks. I don't have the patience to let my food cool down enough so the fat solidifies.0
