Sudden Weightloss

Has anyone else had the weight suddenly disappear? I've been at it this tie for about 40 days and I was teetering around the same weight for most of that time.

All of a sudden this last week I've dropped almost 9lbs! My average over time is fine but it is quite odd. I haven't really changed my diet and exercise regime, eat less and healthy, cycle 8 miles, 2-3 times a week,

I think my body just got the message, now to see if it can hold onto and lose the other 20lbs or so :)

Have a read of this: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html

9lbs sounds a bit extreme, but it could be a combination of the above, along with a normal downwards fluctuation of water weight. Remember that weight loss isn't linear, so don't panic if it goes up a pound or two again. Look at the overall trend. 9 lbs in 40 days is a reasonable rate of loss. Obviously if you continue to lose 9 lbs a week, that would not be good and I would personally get checked out by a doctor to rule out any underlying cause, but if you just have a tendency to stay stable for a few weeks and then drop a sudden chunk of weight, that's just how it is for some people.

With only 20 lbs left to lose now, you might want to aim for more like 1 lb a week, or even 0.5 lbs a week, as the leaner you get, the slower the fat comes off.

    Interesting stuff.

As for "Aiming at loss per week", I've decided to not do that, all I did was change lifestyle. Cycle to work, don't take snacks, just controlled lunch, don't have change in my pocket for the vending machine, eat later in the evening so I don't snack.

Lifestyle is so much easier than crazy calorie counting everything IMHO
