How do I add this kind of exercise?

I work as a waitress and today I worked an 11 hour shift, had a half hour break, and was tending a bar and catering a party of 40 throughout the day. My day consisting of walking most of the day and carrying full trays between 3 floors for about 2 hours straight. How should I add this to my exercise?

    I wouldn't count it.

if this kind of day is typical of you, I would just make sure your activity level was definitely set as active.

I was wondering because today was an abnormally active day. I don't normally count work, but today had me sweating for hours (and its very air conditioned in there)

It should be reflected into your calorie goal already, unless you chose sedentary. Waitressing is typically labeled as semi active or active depending on average hours worked and time spent moving during those hours. If you wante to get an idea of how many calories you are burning you would need to use a tool to count how many steps you are taking during your shift.

If it was abnormally active, then you'll need to add exercise calories to be correct.
  • If you work like that often then you might want to change your profile in Account Settings then Update Diet/Fitness Profile and change it to Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman). This will probably increase the amount of calories you can take in during the day but it is kinda like calculating calories burned based on your job. I would save exercise for activities done expressly for exercise (like going for a walk or run).

I don't know what your goal is, but if your trying to lose weight, then don't sweat it. If your trying to gain, you'll really want to count the extra calories burned.
