I am going to a Body Pump class (weight training) and when I added that to my exercise diary, I did not gain any calories. Why is that?

1: If you added it under Strength, it's because the Strength section doesn't add calories. It's just for tracking workouts and impressing your friends.
2: Try using the Strength Training entry under the cardio section if you want it to add calories.
3: Just a bit of fyi, Body Pump is basically resisted cardio training. Yeah you're using weights, but your doing like 800 reps. That's not strength, that's endurance. If that's what you want, cool. It's a great program for that. If you're really looking to build strength though, it won't.0 -
No matter how you spin it thats just cardio training. If you want bigger muscles you have to understand how muscle development works. You dont gain muscle in the gym your actually tearing them down. Its outside the gym while the muscle's recover and grow is how they get bigger. . If you love these video's and it motivates you great keep going for your cardio fix but if you want a real muscle building program check this out.>>> http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/jim-stoppani-six-week-shortcut-to-shred.html0
