Hi! I have worked out every day for the last 13 days. I am feeling a little tired and may take a day off, but I am wondering if my workouts affect my weight. Yesterday, I walked outside for 3 miles and then did the elliptical for 30 minutes on a higher resistance. In the last two days I have weighed a few pounds more than normal- I had some cheesecake and peanut butter (probably 800-1000) calories worth and I was over my maintenance calories by 2000 for the week, but I am back at it again. Could that have really resulted in a jump on the scale even though it is not a literal pound.
Sorry if my questions are dumb, I just need to learn

It isn’t a dumb question. Your weight is driven by several factors aside from food –such as water retention due to high sodium, exercise, stress, bowels, TOM, etc. This is the reason accurately tracking and taking measurements are important. Sodium alone drive my weight up a few pounds overnight. The TOM could drive it up 5 lbs. The best thing to do is make sure you don’t overeat, keep up the exercise, and keep your body well hydrated.0

Also take a rest day once a week or so, or just walk some days. Your workouts can make your weight increase due to water retention. A big calorie surplus over a day or two can do that, too. Don't stress over it. Think long term and weigh yourself infrequently if the little scale fluctuations worry you.0

Muscles hold on to extra water when you've been working them more. Add that to the extra carbs/ sodium and it explains the extra lbs. Give it a few days back on plan and they'll disappear.
I do agree with the other poster, you need to take regular rest days from exercising to give your muscles a chance to recover.0
