Good Ways To Eat Walnuts?

I have really bad asthma and read that walnuts are really good for the lungs so I'm trying to eat more of them. But I really don't like them :( My mother suggested I eat them with brownies. :/ Not what I was looking for. Are there any healthy ways I could mix in walnuts and not taste them that much? If needed, I'll just suck it up and eat them even though I don't like them. But would love some healthy ways to disguise their flavor :)
Thanks so much if you can help! :))

This is just a supposition (I've never tried it myself; love the flavor of walnuts) but maybe you could grind them down to a fine powder and slip them into various recipes like flax seed.

Of course, if you're looking for the power of Omega 3s, you could always just get flax. Lots of fiber, Omega 3s, can pretty much blend into everything in small doses - it's a superfood.

Awesome, thank you! My weight loss has been ruined by my asthma so I'm really focusing on that. And I hate healthy stuff except most fruits. But I find that the more I eat healthy stuff, the more I like it. I used to hate peppers and now I can't get enough of them. Thanks for the flax tip. I might put some of those into my breakfast shakes :)

IMO, the best way is to eat them raw. Also you could try walnut cookies. They're really easy - 1 cup grinded walnuts, 1 cup egg whites, 1 cup powdered sugar. You beat the egg whites until they become like snow, add the sugar - beat once more, then finaly add the walnuts and some vanilla (cinnamon, cocoa - your choice really) and bake them slowly.

A serving of nuts is pretty small so don't feel like you need to eat a lot of them for benefits.

I googled 'walnuts benefits for lungs' and the results' sources didn't look very authoritative, so you may want to do more research on it before forcing them into your diet. One article did at least say it was a Chinese cure due to the magnesium, so maybe a magnesium supplement would be easier for you?

This article suggests all nuts are good, and pistachios might be good for preventing lung cancer (not that that is asthma).

Walnut milk! Excellent in smoothies, baking, or other recipes.

To make walnut milk, soak the nuts overnight in water, then blend and strain in the morning.

It's an excellent way to make recipes creamy without dairy calories.

I have severe asthma too. I know how frustrating it is. I'm on two medications for it, one being an every day inhaler. I can't exercise without it. It helps so much. Don't know if you're on anything. As for walnuts, I need to be frank and say I doubt there's anything to the walnuts thing. Like another commenter said, the literature on it is sketchy. And a fair number of sources actually say the opposite--walnuts can be allergens and worsen asthma.

Sorry I'm not a lot of help; I just worry because asthma can actually kill, and natural remedies may not be the best way to go.

Are you sure the ones you had in the past weren't old, low quality, or rancid? Look for the ones that are lighter in color and plump looking.

I'm on two types of pills and two types if inhalers but I still use my inhaler at least 5 times a day. I've almost died from asthma before so I am terrified of it taking my life. Im desperate to take control back of my life. I've never heard that it could be an asthma trigger so perhaps I will just give the walnuts to my nieces. Thanks for the info :)

One of my favourite snacks is a banana cut in half longways down the middle, then topped with a spread of peanut butter and topped with some crushed up walnuts. YUMMY!
