Home cross trainer - high resistance.

So when I started my fitness and weight loss journey (again), I got myself a Body Sculpture BE5920.

This has been great for getting back into a routine, getting my heart rate up, and improving my recovery rate from cardio. As you'd expect as the days have gone by my fitness has improved and I have to work harder to get the same heart rate. The cross trainer I have does have variable resistance but there really is very little between the softest and hardest resistance. What I used to do on the softest, I'm now doing on the hardest. I know eventually this is going to be too easy, in terms of cardio. Sure I can go faster, but I don't know about you guys but "spinning" on a cross trainer just feels strange, like sprinting with a really short stride.
So my question is... Does anyone have any recommendations for cross trainers (sold in the uk) that has more variation between the easiest and hardest settings. I would spend up to £350, but this time I'd like one that I can keep and use even when I'm at my fittest and lightest. Not one I have to upgrade again. (The Body sculpture has been great to just check I'd actually use one often enough to make it worthwhile spending money).
Thanks!
Edit - shouldn't type posts and watch netflix at the same time.

I would research "review elliptical" on the net and then see whether you can get one second hand. I do not know whether you can get a real good one for under 350 pounds. You can also go to your local gym and ask those guys what they would recommend.
