I didn't use podcasts; I downloaded C25K Lite on my android phone. I think a lot of folks have used the free smartphone apps rather than podcasts, which may be why it's taking a bit of time to get recommendations.

It really depends what kind of music you like to run to.

I first tried Ullery, which is techno, with no lyrics. I decided I needed some lyrics.

I used the podcasts from http://runningintoshape.com/5k-training-downloads/ after Ullery. I think she's got both hip hop podcasts and rock podcasts available for download.

Chubby Jones is my favorite so far (http://chubbyjones.libsyn.com/). The music she plays is kinda punk/alternative with a little bit of talking sprinkled in throughout. I'm done with C25K and I still use her podcasts sometimes. You can also download her free podcasts from itunes.

This last podcast is one that I came across, but never used. I don't remember what type of music it is. http://gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com/2008/06/couch-to-5k-podcast-page.html

I'm sure there are several other free podcasts out there as well.

    Happy running!

That's the one I'm using, the music's pretty varied, but if you scroll down to below the download links, the tracks are listed, so you can pick something you like. :)

It doesn't actually say "Start walking now" you get a countdown 5-4-3-2-1 but it's not rocket science. The first sector is a brisk walk to warm up, then when you hear the countdown change from walking to running and vicw versa. When it says "And you're done" you can start a cooldown walk and do your stretches!

I simply used an iPhone app called C25K, I could use my own music with that.

I agree. I haven't heard of many people using a podcast. I use C25K by Zen Labs. It is a free app I have on my android phone. It is partnered with my fitness pal. I like the design because it shows me which workout I am on and which ones I have completed, how many mins i'm into and left of the over all workout, the clock counts down my walking and running lap times, it tells me how many laps I have to do and what number I am on and I can also play my own personal play list of music. Most of all I like it because it verbally tells me when to start walking or jogging so I can concentrate on my music instead of having to watch the clock.
