The most efficient diet is not to diet at all. Diet's are temporary, they are intended to be so in order to maximize profits through return customers. The best solution is to avoid diets all together, count calories and maintain a modest deficit while eating all the foodz. It's free, and it works.

Go buy a food scale, weigh and measure everything, log it on mfp, eat at a deficit. Simple as that!

My Dr had me try a gluten free diet to try and lower my blood pressure. I have done really well in the two months since starting it. There is definitely and adjustment period, but after 4 days my blood sugar stabilized and I quit craving bad foods as much. I have a really bad sweet tooth and eat a lot of fruit to satiate that. I started feeling much better after a week and my sleep apnea almost never flares up.
