metabolism help?

I was wondering if there is any way to go from an mesomorph body to an ectomorph? And is there anyway to get your metabolism extremely high? If I were to exercise and eat right to lose weight I wouldn't be able to exercise everyday because of my schedule. And I'm afraid if I lost weight I'd gain it back. It would be nice to be one of those girls who didn't have to exercise to lose weight and eat anything you want. I hope it's possible for me /;

I'm sorry, but there really aren't people who can eat anything they want and not gain weight (except for a couple of very rare metabolic disorders). These people either eat less at the times you're not with them, increase activity (even fidgeting, etc burns calories), or have been shown to decrease caloric intake for a few days after a day with a caloric excess. There is no "magic metabolism." I used to do metabolic testing in a hospital, and less than 3% of the people I tested had an RMR outside of the normal range, and those were usually people with endocrine disorders.

^This.
No quick (healthy) fixes, it took us all time to get unhealthy and it will take time to get healthy.0 -

True that. WHen I was overweight, I wasn an "endomorph". Now I've had people tell me that I'm a meso. Don't believe in them personally.
The harder you train, the better your genetics become.
If you are lazy, there is a fair chance you are going to have a pretty slow metabolism.0 -
I hate the terms ectomorph, endomorph, etc ... I think it gives people an unrealistic idea of inevibility of their build/weight. Really, it's more about the decisions and lifestyle you chose.
You can't change your general shape (apple, pear, hourglass, square, etc) but losing weight can help it be a better version of you (I mention this because some people relate it to the above).
That said, if you want to lose weight without exercising every day, track what you eat and eat at a deficit. If you want to exercise and lose weight, track what you eat and eat at a deficit. (There's a pattern there)
IMO the best option would be to look into a full body lifting program (New Rules of Lifting, Starting Strength, etc) and do that 3 days a week. It'll help you build the body you want as you lose (firm, "toned"). You don't have to do it every day. You also will maintain muscle and lose fat at a better ratio than by cutting calories alone. Bonus points because more muscle means a better metabolism, which means you're less likely to gain it back (but you still have to look at it as a lifestyle - exercise and good food choices don't end once you've reached your "goal")
Edit : You still won't be able to be one of "those" girls who eat everything they want and never exercise and stay skinny. They pretty much don't exist.0 -

You can eat whatever you want within your calorie goal with a set deficit and you will lose weight. You don't have to exercise either.
The thing is, you can't eat as much as you want and still lose weight, and neither can anyone else. You just don't see everything they eat.0 -

Even worse, somatypes were developed to associate body types to temperament types. It was not based on any real information. The concept has also been widely discredited.0 -

So much this!!! I get annoyed when people use slow/high metabolism as an excuse for not losing/gaining weight0 -
Well you don't have to exercise to lose weight, just stay within the recommended MFP calorie goal and you'll lose weight, albeit it comes off quicker if you're burning calories by exercising.
Calories in versus calories out.0
