lowering teaching voice

HI guys,
I know this is weird, but I was at a certification today and the feedback I got was great, except that I need to lower my voice (as its naturally really high) when I teach and use a microphone. Does anyone have any tips to try and help me, or do you think it really shouldn't matter and wouldn't bother you?
Thanks!

Well...when I use a microphone in the classroom I always feel like I'm higher then I normally sound. So it kinda goes hand in hand, but it's hard to figure out unless you have a microphone.0

It is not uncommon for pitch to rise as volume increases. Just being aware of it and speaking more quietly should help. When I use a voice assist system, depending on where I am in the classroom I can't really hear what is coming through the speakers so I have to trust that it is working and watch the way my students are attending. Turn up the volume on your system rather than speaking louder if your class can't hear. For me it was very much a habit...and when my students got louder I would try to talk over them...and then I would have the whole pitch rising thing. For younger students (I am a K-5 music teacher) the quieter I deliver instruction, the quieter they are so they can hear me.0

I teach college students, and it works on them, too!0
