Starting Out

Hi,
I'm Bex I need to loose 10 stone! I had a baby 18 months ago and whilst breast feeding and walking everywhere I lost 5 stone but I have put it all back on and feel horrible about myself! I am 5.11 and to be honest I don't think I've ever weighed less than 14 stone so that's my goal. I've set my calories at 1,750 a day does that sound about right? Today's menu looks like this:
Breakfast - Oat so Simple big bowl with semi skimmed milk
Snack - A banana
Lunch - wholemeal sandwich with ham, cucumber and light mayo, small packet of crisps and a low fat yoghurt
Snack - 200gs of strawberries
Dinner - Stir Fry Veg, Noodles and black Bean Sauce and a fruit split yoghurt
All this comes out at 1,520 calories so still got 200 should I want them. I have also made sure today I've drunk 2 litres of water.
My problem is I stick at it for a while then get a few compliments that i look good and I think I get complacent and then start having treats which just leads to major overeating! As a child with a mum who had bulimia there was never any 'naughty' food in the house and food was always labelled good or bad so as soon as I had pocket money I blew it on food we never had like cakes and biscuits and chocolate. I find it very hard to have just 1 of something nice I have to have the whole packet!

    What you said sounds good, but variety is the key, remember as long as you are in calorie deficit you`ll lose weight. Nothing should be off limits, if you fancy a chocolate bar as long as it fits in to your calorie goal eat it. A piece of advice make sure you get some scales and weigh your food, this was you know you aren't over eating, this is a big issue, I pretty much weight everything except liquids then I measure this to the nearest ml.

    Also don`t just use weighing scales for your weight loss, measure yourself, as weight can vary dramatically. when you do get weighed make sure its the same time of day on the same day in the same clothes (or not)
