High protein snack ideas

After two weeks of logging on MFP I notice a trend of having too much fat and too little protein in my diet (fat usually 50%, carbs 30% and protein 20%). I was logging on normal days prior to making changes just to see where I was at. I'm in need of some filling high protein snack ideas. Share whatever you've got! Thanks!!

I am a big snacker at work. My 2013 diet I bought edamame and it was nasty after a while and contributed to me giving up. One reason this year's diet has been better is I found snacks that is healthy and really enjoy. I will buy planter's pistachios which are really good. I also will buy Atkins snack bars and other snacks. Very good.

When I think of snack I think of something you don't have to prepare so to me that means nuts, greek yogurt, protein bars/shakes (I'm trying to discover snacks as well). If you have a little bit of time to "prepare" something but don't want to "cook" then a smoothie is a great way to add protein. Just mix as many of your favorite fruits with some greek yogurt and/or whey protein powder and you have 15-40g of protein in 16 oz. Of course, with this you have to watch the carbs but it's a good way to use protein powder aside from mixing it with just milk or water.

While nuts are a good snack....
They have more fat than protein.

Thank you all so much, keep 'em coming. I have greek yogurt every morning for breakfast with some kind of berries and usually walnuts, so want to stray from nuts for a snack due to the fat factor. I've always succeeded in making protein shakes, but never really feel satisfied because I used them as meal replacements. I will try to do the fruit/yogurt combo and maybe that will hold me over. I've tried Quest bars before, but found them to be somewhat chewy and not my favorite texturally. Any other bars that are comparable in protein levels but low in sugar? Thanks to all those replying….

I had the same problem so I upped my protein by adding a can of tuna as a snack every day, I add Hummus to it. Other than that what others said and also increase your meat portion. I went from around 3 ounces to 4 or more.

I like protein shakes. Syntrax Nectar shakes have very low carbs/sugar and are 20g of protein per scoop. It's whey protein (easily/instantly absorbed). I also like almonds (with some dark chocolate chips thrown in 20 almonds with 1 TBSP of dark chips is a great snack - easy to make up about 20 bags at once to have for a quick grab.) Cottage cheese is a good source too - add some fresh blackberries for additional protein. Peanut butter/celery, Eggs (hard boiled) and cheese!!

    :)

Beef jerkey if I want to spoil myself and Greek yogurt if I'm budgeting my money.

If jerkey wasn't $5 for 3 oz I'd probably eat it every single day.
