I read a book called "Give It Up!: My Year of Learning to Live Better with Less" by Mary Carlomagno, and since I tried to be diligent about something for an entire month. Good for practicing short term dedication and fighting urges. I encourage everyone to try this.

I stopped drinking 5/2 - had one slip up about 3 weeks ago, and am still dry. I applaud your desire! You can do it man.

As someone said to me once: No matter who argues with you, remember this one truth: there is nothing alcohol does positively for you that you can't get by another source - most likely with a lot less side effects. :)

    Good luck y'all!

I'm just about at the end of my "dry June" so haven't had a drink in 24 days - damn near a record for me! So I won't join you on this one (I'm on holidays next month so planning to break the drought!) but encourage you to give it a go.

I'm super stoked with myself as deep down I wasn't sure I could do it but have managed to survive social occasions easily and am really enjoying the results on my health, weight, moods and bank account!

I want to do this!! I ruin ALL my progress by binge eating while drinking not to mention all the calories in the alcohol and then not feeling like working out the next day. I'll save a lot of money by not buying liquor too!! Win-win!

It's going to be tough but I am going to give it a shot!

Alright I'm in. I think the longest I've made it before is 3 days. This is going to be major challenge for me but I need to do it. I'm stuck, scale hasn't moved in forever.

Great fuggin idea! Alcohol is my downfall on weekends. I would be in except I am going to Vegas next week and I know that will not fly. I might steal your idea for later.

I stopped drinking two weeks ago and told myself I wouldn't drink again until my birthday (july 9th).. I know my liver is grateful... I LOVE beer lol but I did have a couple of drinks this past weekend because I was at a concert, but it was a vodka/water with lemon.. not to bad right?!?! hahaha Anyway I'm back on the wagon until the 9th... It's my 30th :smokin:

I've been sober since May 26th, and feeling great. From going from clubbing twice a week to not drinking any alcohol, it's been so good for my body. A tip is definitely to chug the water if you're at a social event. I'll go to a friends house and they'll have a glass of wine, and it looks so delicious and lovely... so I keep sipping water to keep my mouth occupied.

Good luck everyone! I'm hoping to stay sober for another two months (I'm doing a 12 week challenge), so I'm in with you!

I did it, Im on day 35 now, and actually I am finding it easier then I thought. Of course being in northern Canada, our warm weather is just starting to arrive, so maybe when the heat hits that beer might look a lot more appealing. But I will of course take the challenge up .
