Do you not "feel" it?

I'm just wondering if I'm alone in feeling this way. I have lost nearly 30 pounds since December. But I look in the mirror and I don't see improvement, I see something worse. My stomach is just hanging, it's loose skin. The stretch marks are more noticeable and wrinkled. I'm doing a Power90 so cardio and strength (up to 10lb weights). Drinking wicked amounts of water, my skin isn't dry at all. Just saggy.

I know I should be saying to myself "way to go, you did an awesome job! Be proud of yourself!" But honestly I look in the mirror and I am not able to enjoy my success because I just don't "feel" it. I don't feel that I look better. I totally know that I'm healthier. But, I guess as I am getting closer to the 30 pound mark, I thought I'd be so much happier than I am.

Does anyone else feel like this? Or has anyone felt this way and what helped you to snap out of it?

I didn't appreciate how much I'd lost and how good I looked until I put over half of my loss back on, and I hate it now.

Instead of focussing on the things you don't like, try and find an outfit that compliments you, then doing a little catwalk in front of the mirror and try to imagine what other people would see.
If you're doing a lot of fitness I'm guessing you'll have some nice curves/toned muscles so try to show them off a bit more. Or get your friends to help by asking them to compliment you to boost your self-image. Your skin will tighten and firm up, it just might take some time.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I feel the same as you, but I just keep plodding slowly along. Exercise and losing weight helps me feel better, so if I don't look like a model, who cares? I know my saggy stretch marks are part of me, and will probably never get much better, but I'm ok with that, because I know my body has done, and will do, some amazing things - have a baby, get stronger, stay healthy. Good luck to you!

Hi, I too have lost 30 lbs but I feel it when I try on my jeans and shorts from last summer that are too big. Although when I look in the mirror I definitely still see problem areas that need work (tummy, hips, butt, triceps to name a few).

Are your clothes fitting differently or too big? I think we forget what we looked like and only see the current reflection. And I know I will always see big hips and butt even if I loose more weight cause its always been that way! Obviously weight loss is in our minds too.

Loosing 30 lbs is awesome and you should be proud of all your hard work and the health benefits that you get. Keep it up! You know you are doing the right thing. It takes longer to see changes as we get older ( and you are way younger than me).

    Good luck.

Take pride in the loss! I lost a bunch of weight and still struggle daily with liking myself... we all have issues.. we all have areas that need toned or have stretch marks.. it's just something we have to accept and make the best of. You are beautiful and should be proud of where you are at and all the things to come... great work on the loss.!!!
