Hey guys, I am 31 year old female that has gotten lazier and lazier the older I get. After putting on 12 lbs in a year and my nurse frowning at me, and horrible acid/indigestion issues, I decided to take self control seriously.

Love myfitnesspal because it made me aware of the calorie amount I was putting in my mouth and my excessive boredom eating. I have always been able to eat what I want but gone are those days. I have been working out for about 3 months but because of my food choices but in less than a week, I already feel much better. I am doing a simple 1200 calorie diet and just trying to make good choices. I don't want to be restricted but I don't want to be stupid either.

Glad to join!!!

Feel free to add me, I'm trying to get back in the mood again myself. Have a lot to lose. If anybody can tell me how to add the tracker to my home page I would surely appreciate it.
    Thanks Sheila

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.
    -Wayne Dyer

It's about moderation not deprivation. There are no good/bad foods, only bad eating habits. Do or do not, there is no try. You have to want it, you have to work for it, you have to realize that only you can do it.

Welcome to MFP! ^^ Those links are worth their weight in gold. Definitely take a look at them. You don't HAVE to exist on 1200 calories a day - you CAN eat more and still lose weight (unless you're very short). :) Good luck. MFP is a GREAT way to keep yourself accountable and get you on your way to a healthier you. :flowerforyou:

Hi, I'm Jo...trying to do much better with my life and get healthier. I started my weightloss journey a week from today, and am really excited about it. I Am on a plan here in Texas called Quick Weight Loss Program, and I am liking it so far. I'm just trying to get used to eating on a schedule and exercising in the evenings with my daughter in tow.

I'm glad to meet everyone, and know for a fact that I will need lots of motivation from others!!!

Yes, just some info on my 2 years here...

I started out on the 1200 only a day plan (I also ate my exercise calories back)...I didn't last too incredibly long. I had success with it until I didn't. Found some of those links which changed my life.

    I lift heavy 3x a week, I eat around 2000 calories a day. I'm losing. I'm 5'5" and 37 yo.

Quick weight loss isn't healthy. See the links above. You can eat food and lose weight. Not trying to discourage you from anything other than anything that says Quick.

Thanks, for your input...Not discouraged at all. I will try and see how I do on the plan, and slowly incorporate other foods!

Hi. Ive been having a history of going up and down from doing diets and workouts I couldn't keep doing. now I think I finally an losing weight doing something I can do forever walking and also I use this app to hold me accountable. Before this I used the Lose It! app. This one is better cause I find the calories are more accurate and there's more more things listed like my bubble teas and cookies. I still eat junk but I dont reward myself with it or just quit eating junk like I did before... that never worked for me.

i lost 20 lbs since April and Im not hungry or feeling deprived... Im not making myself pay by working out too much either. My way is working for me and probably wont work for anyone else. Thats the thing I finally stopped listening to everyone else! I listened to my body and mind... now Im dropping it off 1-2 lbs every wk without really trying. This app though keeps me accountable and makes me aware of how many vitamins I need by the end of the day and helps me reduce my sodium. This app makes me aware of how many calories I eat daily... and It was a game for me not to go over for the week and now its a game to end up with less calories after exercise... every week. I started off over 6000 calories over budget. Now Im usually 1000 or more under budget for the week (after exercise). I rarely dont meet the 1200 calorie daily budget when eating.... usually I eat much more than that ! But somehow Im always using more calories. i walk at least 3 times a week cause I like walking. I did over 15 miles on Saturday with my family including my 7 yr old. Everybody has their own way that will work for them. Crossing my fingers that this way will work for me for life. For once I think i found a way... my own way.

You will find the way for you... Don't give up.

I don't think I could eat 2000 calories a day! Okay I am going to look at some of the links. I am doing pretty good with this but I guess if the weight doesn't come off its pointless lol. I am one of the people that falls into the needs to lose 10-15 and 15 may actually be too much. Its just my weight has been slowly going up and now its to the point that I need to start now to control or its going to get out of hand.
