it's all water weight; you do realize that, correct?
Yes. I do not do this to lose weight. I do it for a cleanse. If it makes the OP happier doing it and seeing a little movement on the scale regardless if it is water weight or not- is not up to you nor I.

I personally do the 7 day cleanse every 8 weeks. I do lose about 5lbs and end up gaining 2 back, typically. I do this for a cleanse though. Not to lose weight. That is just an extra added bonus
and may i ask, cleansing of what?
Yes thanks for asking! I like to cleanse any toxins. No one is perfect when it comes to eating and we all slip up and have processed foods, alcohol, refined sugars, etc. "toxins" if you will. The 7-Day cleanse has really helped me FEEL good

Do you have a medical condition that prevents your liver and kidneys from working properly?

I don't think this is your business to be certain. But yes. I do- please private message me if you would like to discuss more of my medical issues.

If you are going to suggest cabbage soup as a means to "cleanse" your system, then the owness is on you to share why you need to do that and how it actually works. Even if you do have a medical condition, I highly doubt that cabbage soup is somehow a miracle cure.

I have one week to drop a bit of excess weight before I go on holiday.

I've been loosing weight heAlthily and gradually for about a year now but I just want some quick tips for this week just so I can drop 2-4lbs before I go on holiday if possible...

I'm drinking lots of water and green tea to help flush but what should I be eating this week to help push it even more? I hear limiting carbs and fats (only really eating protein and some greens) would help work quickly??

I normally eat around 1300-1600 kcal a day and that just about maintains my weight, so I'm planning on eating 1000-1200 this week??

If you have 7 days- I suggest either the Cabbage soup diet or the 3-Day Military diet. it will help you drop a few more pounds and they are actually pretty easy!

This is terrible, unhealthy and unethical advice. Starving the body of necessary energy and nutrients will not do anything but cause her to lose some water weight, be cranky and likely overeat once the process has ended, leaving her in a worse state than if she'd just continued to eat at a modest deficit. The end outcome of most of these ridiculous starvation diets tends to be weight gain, not weight loss due to the likelihood of binging afterwards.

OP, do not take this advice.

I appreciate your opinion however- how is this starving your body? I do the cabbage soup cleanse once every 8 weeks and I still make sure to hit 1200 calories. Do a little research on it.. foods are UNLIMITED they are just specific.

You can eat 1200 calories of cabbage soup? Each bowl has less than 50 calories, so you're eating 24 bowls of soup? Impressive. Also, those specific foods have very few nutrients in addition to very few calories. I did the research back when I was ignorant and desperate to lose weight. I did the diet. I know what it is and I know what it did to me (both emotionally and gastrically).

Also, since you can't name the "toxins", maybe you should do some research and then you might realize just how foolish it is to do starvation diets like the cabbage soup diet.

The OP is asking for a quick fix. I am assuming she knows any quick fixes are not healthy in the long run- will make you lose water weight, and most likely come back. She is asking for an unhealthy request. There is a difference between providing the info and encouraging it.

What you provided is encouraging unhealthy behavior. There is no need to go on cabbage soup diet for weight loss or for "cleansing." There is no scientific evidence that cabbage cleanses anything. You body is amazing and is perfectly capable of removing toxins 24/7/365 without a "cleanse." The only reason why "cleanses" exist is because some snake oil saleman in the diet industry is trying to make money off of desperate people.

I will also agree to disagree with you :)

Then please provide one peer-reviewed scientific study that says cabbage soup cleanses toxins out of the body.

No I do not eat 24 bowls. I am assuming the one you did and what I do are completely different. This does great things for me. I do thins once every 6-8 weeks. It is a quick fix if you want to see scale movement- not the reason why I do it and yes I know that it IS water weight.. again NOT the reason I do it. OP asked for a quick fix.. well here it is!

Whenever someone says they do a "cleanse" and it's not for weight loss, just it makes them feel better... Why not eat right from the start and you don't have to do any sort of cleanse at all? I eat right 90% of the time now and I feel great. No cleanse required. Like someone else said...you pee and poo and that kind of covers it, right?

    I do eat healthy regularly.

If you eat healthy regularly, then you don't need a cleanse.

    Agree to disagree :)

Agree to disagree if you want, but one of you is speaking in scientific fact, and the other is speaking pure made up nonsense.

I'm more concerned that OP wants to do this right before going on holiday. Trying for some of these quick fixes can lead to fatigue, digestion woes, muscle soreness, and who knows what else that might ruin that holiday. It would be a shame.

My sensibilities have been offended by this thread. Cabbage soup is so gross. Literally the nastiest. I should be able, as a tax paying citizen of THESE HERE UNITED STATES, to come to these message boards and not have to read the words "cabbage" and "soup" together so many times. I am vomiting in my mouth, okay? Are you happy? I am a shell of myself.

In a community that has all sorts of people looking for ways to lose weight, it's not in the best interest to post a "fast weight loss" plan on the public forums. Many people will CONTINUE to use that plan well after a week if they see even a little progress.
