HTC One vs Droid Maxx

Ok, so I've asked everyone I can think to ask and I've done a lot of googling ... but I still can't decide

I currently have the Samsung S3 but not a big fan. I used to have an HTC and loved it.

I'm on Verizon, and I don't want to spend $200+ on a new phone

The HTC One is $49.99 and the Droid Maxx is $0

    I'm rocking the Droid Maxx right now. I enjoy it. It was a significant step up from my last Droid. I don't know much about the HTC One, though, so I can't really compare/contrast. Take my word with a grain of salt.
