no exercise

Ive been improving my diet for about the last 3.5 weeks and must admit i have exercised none. Ive totally gave up alcohol which has gotten easier over the past couple of weeks. In fact i be thrilled to never have a drink unless in a social setting. I was at the store yesterday and they had my favorite alcohol beverage for one heck of a sales price and i didnt buy it. I know eventually i will have to get to it so I was wondering how much weight did you lose with improving your diet before working out?

You don't need exercise to lose weight. I didn't do any regular exercise until I reached my goal weight. That took me a year.

I lost 35 pounds before working out but my body composition was super terrible, so it really didn't matter. I was just a skinnier fat person.

Good job on your results, one can totally lose weight on diet alone. I recommend getting in some exercise at least 2-3 days a week for general health and the extra calories can't hurt to allow yourself an extra treat.

In simplistic terms diet/nutrition is for weight-loss, exercise is for cardiovascular health/fitness and body composition/definition.

    This!^

Exercise because you "can." It will help you retain more lean muscle, and you will earn extra treats. Besides, maintenance is going to be fewer calories forever. Add regular activity (forever) and you can bump this up.

I started workout out before I changed my diet. I also didn't just want to lose weight. I wanted to get healthy, strong and gain muscle which I have. I found that I was thinner with working out (at the same weight I was previously.... so me at 155 was a size 10/12 and me working out at 155 was more like a 8/10).

Exercise is completely unnecessary for weightloss. However, when you do get to your goal weight, you're going to be much happier with the results if you include some sort of weight training. With weight training, some women find that they don't even want to reach their goal weight anymore, because they look and feel so good by recomping fat to muscle. 130 lbs looks very different between someone who lifts and someone who doesn't.

After thinking about some of the comments on here it occurred to me, skinny isn't nearly as fun to look at as fit. You aren't going to get fit without excercise
