Fish. I used to HATE it. Whenever my mom wanted to cook fish, I would immediately run as fast as I could  . In any direction. Just to be far away from the stove.
I've started eating fish one week ago because of the protein and omega-3. It's not that nasty, just... The memories from my childhood are heavy when it comes to this particular smell  Oh well...

In the present I eat fish about 3 times a week and I've noticed that the *pain* is starting to slowly disappear...

Sorry, but if I just ate what I wanted, I would look totally different.

You could hit your macros eating foods you did like, no need to eat Greek yoghurt if you don't like it

Only so much protein shakes I can drink in between meals. Hard to find a quicker and better snack that packs 18 g of protein and only 6g of sugar.

    Protein bars...voila.

Nothing. If I don't like it I don't eat it. Pretty much all food has an alternative for certain nutrients that I need.

Nothing. I enjoy a wide variety of foods, including plenty of fruits and vegetables, so there's really never been any reason for me to stomach something just because of it's nutrient profile.

    Between 1 and 6 grams.

And not to mention the price difference. We're talking about four cents per gram of protein in Greek yogurt. The average protein bar, if I'm being generous and buying in bulk, is closer to 10 cents. Adds up.

Nope, 12 bucks per 12 bars so about 5 cents per gram of protein.

Just to use your pure protein example. Pack of 12 for around $27, comes to 13.5 cents per gram of protein. Not to mention, it comes with 8g of sugar alcohol on top of the already added 3g of sugar.

And almost all protein bars taste like dry chalk anyway. Never found one I enjoyed. I've had pure protein before. Never liked it. Puts me in the same boat as greek yogurt, but less cost effective and healthy.

They are 12 bucks for 12 at Target. As for the sugar alcohol, I concur. I track my carbs though so no need to track sugar individually.

Just trying to help you not have to eat something unnecessarily if you find it disgusting.

I eat lots of things I find 'just OK' because they're good for me (spinach, broccoli, almonds). But I don't think I could ever eat something I found 'nasty', no matter how good it was for me.

    This. Completely!

I love almonds & really do like spinach...but broccoli is on that list for me. It's just meh. There are lots of vegetables I feel the same way about, and a few fruits, like apples. I don't think apples are delicious but they're a nice way to round out a small lunch so I eat them pretty regularly.

Tofu is another one for me. I like it some ways that my husband prepares it, especially pan seared with a tiny bit of BBQ sauce or in a tasty stir fry or soup. But really it's not a food I LIKE. I just eat it because it packs some protein into the meal at a low cost calorie-wise, and since my pescetarian husband buys and prepares it regularly I'm fine w/ eating it.

I appreciate the help, but I'm willing to sacrifice taste for the results I'm looking for. Canned Tuna is another food that I have to get creative with. Just wanted to see if anyone did the same.

    Mine: Greek Yogurt.

Great source of protein, but I have no idea how some people can stomach it. If Courtney Love had a taste, it'd be greek yogurt. It's that disgusting to me. I've tried adding everything to it. Can barely stomach it with peanut butter and honey, but it's such a good snack for bodybuilding I have no choice.

    What's yours?

What do you think of sour cream? To me greek yogurt tastes almost exactly the same. Especially when paired with a baked russet potato, some butter, cheese and bacon

Just drink whey instead. Maybe throw in some oil for more calories.

Have you ever tried putting granola in your yogurt? Or thought about buying a different brand that tastes better?

I've eaten raw yogurt before too. It certainly is vile.

I was about to respond absolutely nothing, but then saw the bananas in front of me. I don't mind them as much now that I've been eating them for so long, but I still don't like them.

Me too! I've hated them since...forever. I started putting them in smoothies for a while because I know they have so much potassium, but I still can't eat one plain.

I can't stand banana's either, or plant based protein powder. I do drink it because it increases my protein intake and I can't handle any form of dairy. But the plant based is very gritty :(

Is cottage cheese out of the question? I love it mixed with blueberries.

I've generally found that I can avoid eating foods that i don't care for and still get those same nutrients elsewhere with something I do like and enjoy eating. Life's too short to eat nastiness, whatever that may be to you. I'm a total foodie though and I like most things.

I have tried greek yogurt before but I couldn't eat more than a couple bites as it taste metallic to me. Almost like when you bite the side of your mouth and bleed a little.

Sour cream doesn't pack the same nutrients, though.

I wasnt suggesting you eat it. I was suggesting that I thought it tasted very similar. Was wondering your thoughts on it. I dont use the sour cream anymore. I use the greek yogurt. Sorry if that wasnt clear in the first post.

Also, the greek yogurt when mixed with chicken or tuna almost gives it a mayo like consistency (to me). It does taste a bit different ( I think due to the lack of vinegar ?) but not bad. Ever try mixing the greek yogurt in with meat? You could also add it to a taco or burrito (again like you would sour cream).

My favorite kind is Fage Total 0% Plain Greek Yogurt

As for foods I dont like that I would eat for health benefits. It used to be sweet potatoes. But I stopped eating them. I drink more wine and eat more ice cream now though.

Got it now. Interesting idea. I'll give the meat idea a shot.
