Polar Loop and calorie adjustments

Hi everyone. I know a few people on here have the polar loop and I'm strongly considering getting one due to the chest strap.
But of course there's no automatic integration to MFP
So I was wondering, how do you use the Loop and the MFP calorie allowance to manually work out how many calories you can eat each day? (for example. fitbit regularly gives me and extra 500 per day)

Replies

  • I haven't figured out how to do it yet
  • I use the Polar app on my phone, then input the time and calories worked off in the exercise section of MFP. Would be nice if it sent it automatically, but actually it only takes a sec to put the numbers in.

I know it's a late reply but I calculate by subtracting my daily calorie burned in MFP from the total calories showing on my Polar Loop or Polar Flow App. I log that number as "Polar adjustment". If I worked out that day, I'll log the calories burned as an actual exercise and the extra calories as "Polar adjustment".

Example: Daily Calorie Burn "MFP" =1560
Polar Calories Burned that day =1830
    Calories burned during training session=220

    1830-1560= 270
    270-220=50

I'll log the 220 as an exercise and I'll log 50 as "Polar Adjustment"

It takes a little getting used to. Hope this info helps!
