Yes you can. Dampen them with water and cook for a little over 10 minutes at 350.... or until they smell really good....
you can also crisp them up in the microwave. 1 minute on high, flip, then about another minute.
However, I've never fried them for tostadas...0 -

We had tostadas the other night too, but I ended up frying them, but used just a little bit of canola oil rather than submersing them into vegetable oil. They are relatively low fat/calorie anyway, even when you fry them, or at least the ones in the store are. I would love to see if anyone else has baked them. Thanks for the post.0

Yes, I make baked nachos all of the time -- brush with olive oil or spray with Pam and put on some salt or whatever seasonings you like and just bake until they are crisp! I haven't done tostadas but I'd assume they would cook the same way.0

That depends on how used your tastebuds are to doing without the "fried" taste. I have baked them two ways and they can be pretty dry. The best way I have tried is to spray them with a little (emphasis on little) olive oil (use one of those compressed air things that you pump) and that seemed to help a little. Make sure you flip them about half way through. This seemed to make them a little crispier and more "fried" like. If you decide to try this without the oil mist, you may not mind the dry taste if you have lots of toppings. I will say that I have cut the tortillas in thin strips and then baked those and if you toss them on the pan as you bake until they all get equally crispy, they are really good on salads. Good luck!0

yes a recipe would be awesome.
I just got so many other ideas just from this. Like Nachos...mmmm...Nachos. lol Or I really like making taco salads, but didn't want to buy the chips to crumble on them (because then I'm left with a bag of chips I shouldn't be eating). I will bake one tomorrow before dinner and see if it tastes okay without any oil, otherwise I'm thinking I might have to try a little bit of oil (for that fried feeling lol).
Thank you so much!0
