You swear by this...

What was the most effective, fat melting machine in the gym that you swear by?? If there was one thing, what would it be???

There's no magical machine. Especially since free weights are better than machines! I love my powercleans, but you will have to do a mix of things to get fat off and build muscle. :)

Honestly it's whatever you enjoy doing the longest and hardest. I hate the gym, preferring to hop on a bike and actually go somewhere, but when I have to do it, the rowing machine is probably the one I enjoy the most... it feels like more of a refined and elegant movement.

Nothing melts it off. I wish.

I get the best results with weights though.

it really depends on your fitness level and your normal routine....for me running seems to be effective...just because I don't run often...and since I started running recently, I can feel something is chaning...but too early to say...

The one you're going to use most consistently will give you the best results. For me, it is the barbell.

I personally enjoy a combo of treadmill, bike, elliptical and weights.

    This!
Do what you like. If you do it often enough & long enough then I'm sure you will see results.

I love my treadmill & recently brought a kettle bell too. Having heaps of fun with it.

My dvd player. I honestly hate going to the gym, I will make excuses not to go (i.e. it's raining, i'm low on gas, it's too hot outside, etc), but if I workout at home, I have no excuse (unless the power goes out and then just do a combo of push-ups, squats, burpees, etc). Right now I'm doing Insanity, before that it was a combo of T25 and Ballet Beautiful. Once I finish Insanity, it will be a combo of T25 and Insanity.

Free weights. And the stair stepper.
  • For me, right now, it's the pool. Cardio, light resistance, and the support of the water to limit impact on my knees.

well you know how some claim "this machine accelerated my weight loss by, blah blah blah". For me its hiking, which is not a machine, so I like to hear people's experiences

    Wow, everyone is so different!!!!

I swear by hiking and the right food, but right now I'm not living close enough to trails to do it daily like I used to. Back in the gym, I'm trying to simulate hikes on treadmill, using elliptical like crazy, using weights and keeping heart rate up, tracking calories, watching my protein...

    And NOTHING!!! FML!

How you're determining your calorie burns, and how consistent and accurate your food logging is, should be the main factor in whether or not you're losing weight, unless there's a medical reason behind it. Are you weighing your food? With only 10 lbs to lose, you don't even need a huge deficit. You should be set to lose .5 lb a week at this point.
