I cried

I dont think I have cried once during this journey. Ive had great success. Started at 232lbs now down to 210lbs.

BUT ive been stuck at 210lbs for a few weeks now. And today during weigh in I lost it! I cried. I hate seeing the scale stuck at 210lbs. I am only 11lbs away from being under 200lbs & I have not been there in 3 years!

Im frustrated, angry, annoyed but im not giving up. Usually my routine is the bike, tredmill & walking dvds. I am going to add some strength training, arm weights, leg weights etc as well as adding the eliptical.

My eating is perfectly fine. I drink about 10-12 cups of water a day, eat plenty of fruits & veggies & stick to my calories. Ive even upped my calorie intake alittle like I was told.

So today is not a good day. The scale ruined it for me. Im not giving up though!! HELL NO! Ive come to far to give up! Only 5 months until Summer, my goal is my last 50lbs by June. Praying for success

Weight loss is an incredibly emotional journey, so crying is completely acceptable. Don't let the scale ruin your WHOLE day.....maybe just the first half. You're doing great!

Oh no!!! I feel terrible that you were crying. Not good!

It will be okay, and you WILL get under 210! And when that happens, make sure you reward yourself somehow -- buy a nice top or get a manicure.

Sometimes the scale is not the best measure of progress. The tape measure does wonders for self esteem. Living and dying by a number on a scale will only make a person go mad!:laugh: If you know you're eating properly, drinking plenty of water and getting in enough workouts and mixing them up along the way... If we don't drop anything on the scale one day it doesn't mean failure, it can mean nothing at all, it can simply be inches lost or a tweak needed somewhere.

Dependence on a scale for any of us is so unhealthy, have you checked the tape measure lately and noticed clothes getting looser?:flowerforyou: So many other ways of seeing success besides a number on the scale.

Hey--sorry to hear that the scale made you cry today--remember it is only a scale and has no real power. You do-- you are the one who is exercising, eating right and being accountable. There are days when the `scale` wll not reflect your battle or your willpower. On those days remind the scale that is not the boss of you and keep up the fight.
  • First of all Congratulations on your current weight loss of 22lbs !!! That's great !!! And don't get too discouraged. I know it's hard because I do too....but....have fun with it. Say ok, now what in the heck is going on. I must need to change a few things here.
Adding a few lbs of weight and and eliptical sounds great. But remember when lifting weights you may not lose lbs but instead inches. Which to us is good but Not Good. I started at 227 back at the end of Sept and Reaching that 199 was absolutely awesome! Grant it No one noticed but I surely did. And you'll probably cry then too. But good tears. Stick with it like you said, don't give up, just try knew things- And you'll get there. You'll be the Hottie you want to be by June.
    Good Luck to you !!!!

THIS! I havn't seen the scale move in 3 days (i need to stop weighing myself every morning...but curiosity killed the cat!!)

but this morning I got out my tape. I HAVE LOST 2" from my stomach!

I didn't drop "weight" but i lose INCHES, and that made me feel better about that scale being stuck on the same exact number for 3 days.

How frustrating! Keep in my how well you have done, 22 lbs is awesome!! I think changing your workout up a little will help. Your body may just need more of a challenge. Good luck! You are so close to 199! Stay strong!!! You can do it!

You are doing great and your strength is showing through your words. You are maintaining and not gaining so look at it with that point of view until the stall is over. You are indeed accomplishing this weight loss journey so don't let this little stall get at you..use it as fuel and attack those weights!! I see 199 in your future!!

Sometimes switching it up is a good thing, even if you go over for a few days. maybe you should let all this stress go and splurge a few times. Don't go nuts and eat everything in sight, but take some of the pressure off yourself. We've all hit plateus. I've been on one for the last 5 years! My goal was always to be below 200, even when I was over 300, but I never reached it. Now, after maintaining all these years, I'm ready for that final push to the finish.

Sometimes we find comfort in our routines. Break yours up for a week. You can go either way. Workout harder than you've ever worked before for a few days, and/or take a few days and don't workout at all. That might be just the thing to snap you out of your rut.

You WILL make it if you keep pushing forward!

When we weighed in on Monday morning my wife showed a 3 pound weight GAIN. She was not real happy. The remedy? weigh in again on Tuesday. Weight can fluctuate every day, especially for women. The next morning she got on the scale and showed a 3 pound weight loss for the week.

I guess what I am trying to say is, you can get a do-over. Check it tomorrow.

Great job on the 22 lbs already! Sometimes changing the intensity/length of time of my workout and shifting what I'm eating has helped me in the past. (Not necessarily different calories, but different food.) My body just seems to get used to things! Anyway, you will break through it soon!
