Had a terrible week, and it's all gone horribly wrong. I have been unwell, and very busy at work, and the whole diet thing has gone out of the window. I want to weigh myself and check the damage, but I don't think I want to know. I seem to have lost my willpower, and give in to all my cravings.I keep telling myself that I will start again tomorrow, but it doesn't seem to happen. I was going to use tomorrow as a refresh date and start over, but think it's more realistic if I start again on Monday, as it's a friends birthday this weekend. Any tips on how to keep motivated would be brilliant.

Accept you had a bad week but try to see the postives in it too. You may have got your leptin levels back up and so may kick start better losses for the next few weeks.

If you dont want to weigh in and see the damage dont do it. Give it a week or so of being back in a deficit then have a peek and see where you are. If you rush onto the scale and see an increase you may be more likely to eat loads of junk to comfort yourself.

Enjoy the party just dont use it as an excuse to go overboard. Maybe take the weekend at maintainence and then go back to being at a deficit on monday.

Remember why you are doing this and how grateful your future self will be that you put in all the effort and reached your goal :)

Motivation is great...for about 5 minutes. What you need to do is accept that you have to make this work WITH your life. You will always have parties, dinners out with friends, holidays vacations - all that is part of life and if you have to start over every time - you will eventually give up. Build strong habits around your eating plan and exercise that you like and will do. This is what keeps you going when the motivation fails.

Make a plan that can help you stay within your deficit and still enjoy life. It can be tricky - but it can be done. Read the links below and start now to make that happen.

Finally, stop waiting for someone else to tell you how to do this. It's ALL up to you. You have to want this more than anything. Until you do, your efforts will be unsustainable.

    Good luck!

Life happens. Put it behind you and move on.

There will be times when it's more difficult to stay on plan. Aim to eat around maintenance at these times - you will have a bigger calories allowance which will be easier to adhere to, but you will still be monitoring your intake to make sure you don't go overboard.

One week in a lifetime of many weeks. You gotta suck it up and push through. Don't wait for an arbitrary Monday, or tomorrow - you need to recommit today because there will always be a reason to push it off if you look hard enough. Once you are rolling at full steam, you can enjoy all of your events without worry.
